Etruria Relais

Good location not too far from all the main tourist spots but far enough away that it gives you some peace and quiet!

Keys were difficult to use for our guest room (may not be the same for every room).

The room was spacious and having the outside patio at our disposal helped with our toddler. The bed was big enough that our toddler could co-sleep, even though a single fold-up bed was provided. The common area was clean and you could grab a coffee or water as needed or use the facilities provided. It was easy to get to the various bus stations and good restaurants/gelateria.

Some upkeep regarding humidity in the comunal area and room can be helpful to add value to a positive experience. The cot didn't have a mattress itself, just linen that added some padding for our infant.

location and quiteness

The beds were extremely comfortable, which made a big difference after long days of walking. The location is also very good — only about a 25-minute walk to the Colosseum. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. They gave us all the information we needed and were always quick to respond to any questions. They even allowed us a later check-out until 12, which we really appreciated.

The only downside was that our apartment was one level below ground, basically like a basement. There wasn’t a proper window for fresh air, so the air felt quite stuffy at times. There was air conditioning, but without a real window it still felt a bit heavy, and we even noticed some humidity on our clothes. Also, this detail about the apartment being below ground wasn’t mentioned in the listing, which would have been good to know in advance. That said, I think if you book a room above ground, it would be a really great stay overall.
