The Firecat Country House Guesthouse

The Firecat is a real gem. Robin and Jane are wonderful hosts, and the whole experience was a very memorable one for our anniversary celebration. Tucked away down a little dirt drive, you are welcomed by a beautiful home and views looking out to the hills beyond. We stayed in The Firecat room, and as with the rest of the accommodation it was beautifully put together. The centrepiece being the four poster bed with canopy! But the rest of the furniture you can see was lovingly and thoughtfully sourced. The view looking out to the hill beyond from the window was relaxing, and the only sounds you'll hear at night is the odd sheep. Nature is on your doorstep, and it is peaceful and tranquil. Robin's cooking was exceptional and we had an outstanding celebratory dinner. The breakfast was also absolutely delicious. We felt at home instantly, and only wish we had stayed more than one night. We definitely hope to return. Thank you Robin and Jane for a wonderful stay!

We felt very welcome and the food was amazing.

Maybe more effort on an area outside to have a nightcap and take in the Welsh countryside after dinner.

For the price, I expected Egyptian cotton bedding & better duvet/pillows. The bed was too hard for me. The dining chairs, though stylish looking, were hideously uncomfortable & too low.
