Bubbles & Bed

Such a lovely, charming place that feels like an old-style B&B in the best way possible. Beautifully decorated with a super comfy bed and deluxe bathroom. It feels like living in a luxurious old apartment. The balcony is also great.

It does get hot! There are two fans which help a lot but you need to prepare yourself in the warmer months. Maybe they could add some blackout curtains to cool the place down when it is sunny.

The place had personality and the staff were very kind. The room was comfortable. Thoughtful welcome gifts. A variety of toiletries available for use in the room. The room I booked ended up being up only one flight of stairs that wasn't so steep. Close to train station with easy access to Utrecht. Good price.

People sensitive to light or outside noise should consider using an eye mask or earplugs

Everything. It was just what we (me & doggie) needed after 12 days backpacking across Europe, from as far as Turkey. The bed was super comfortable, it was nice & quiet, spacious and the bubbles 🥂 were perfect to celebrate the end of our trip and last night in EU. Thank you also for the bowl of water for Marley, very thoughtful. Also the location is very quaint. What a lovely little place is Bilthoven. 5 mins walk from the train station with regular trains from Utrecht center.

The b&b is nicely decorated, easy to access and a couple of pleasant touches were provided (chocolates and prosecco on arrival). The area is safe and beautiful with lots of walking options.

After the first night, someone knocked on the door in the morning asking if we’d like the room cleaned, which we politely declined as we wanted to relax and enjoy our stay. When we returned in the evening, my partner nearly slipped on some water on our private terrace as someone had been in our room when we weren’t there, against our wishes, to water the plants. To avoid this situation again, the following morning, we hung ‚do not disturb’ sign on the door, but unfortunately we were disturbed again with aggressive knocking and a woman barging into the room shouting ‚your flowers must be watered!’. She proceeded to enter the room, grabbing the watering can from our private terrace and using our bathroom to fill it up. We were both shocked as neither one of us had ever experienced anything like this. If I was traveling alone and came across such a situation, I would feel unsafe to stay here. Regardless, we were both left feeling very uncomfortable and uneasy. My partner has reported this situation to the hostess that was mortified after hearing about it, and also suggested self watering plant globes so the guests don’t need to be disturbed during their stay. Also, the walls of the b&b are quite thin - we could hear every word of the guests staying next to us and when someone walked by/used the shared toilet, which was a bit annoying at times.
