    See my earlier review. We stayed here on 2 separate reservations back to back. Fantastic value. Excellent service. Very good food. Had the standard breakfast and dinner in the dining room. If this hotel and the food served was in Hawaii, it would cost at least 5 times as much and the service cannot compare. Check the hotel web site before you book here. You can upgrade your stay if you book directly for a higher level kaiseki meal, even served in your room. If course it will cost more but it is a worthwhile experience.

    Was very lucky to book hotel miyama for the matsuuri. When I first looked 6 months out, everything in chichibu was booked. 6 weeks prior in October a room became available. Booked immediately. Very clean. Wonderful staff. Only had breakfast this time since we planned to be attending the festival at night. Great breakfast. Clean onsens. Relaxing. A bit out of the city but they have shuttle service to pick up and drop off at seibu station but you must make reservations. Taxi was 1900 yen from seibu train station to hotel on the first night on the festival, which incidentally is not worth going to the first night. Road is narrow so you don't want to walk from the yamada bus stop. Festival night pickup at 9 pm and 11 pm. Too cold for us so we called from the festival and they picked us at at 9 rather than the initial reservation of 11pm. Highly recommended! Lucky for you if you can book it for next year's festival. True ometenashi served here.

    A best place to stay for those who wants some view of nature to relax🙂the staffs are very welcoming. If you like onsen they also have it inside so no need to go and find onsen anywhere else. Public bath onsen is 24hrs. There is a welcoming drink for you to be refreshened upon arrival.
