    Very strange that restaurant needs advance reservation. Please install more street lights up and down the hill. Very dark when driving at night. Can be dangerous

    I like hiking and quiet spot where you can enjoy the chichibu’s signature view, chose to walk up with a 6ish-kg packback. As it’s at the top of a hill, please reserve a shuttle in advance if you come without a car and are able to make a ‘call’. I used the shuttle on the way out to the station next day. Room and facilities, staffs are just flawless. Hot bath is literally the hottest i experienced in Japan, drink bending machines are there, morning coffee at 150yen. But no food shops. The room has a toaster and a microwave, a balcony as well. Think i’d love to stay here again for a longer period.

    Was a rainy night so was a quiet evening at the golf club. We arrived around 3 and got a quick check in and nap before the pleasant dinner sets at 6pm. Sento was well appointed and I was the only person using it both night and morning. For someone who wants to experience absolute silence and me time away from Tokyo. I can’t think of a better place. We drove so it was easy to get to but I think you can take a train and shuttle from station.
