I enjoyed my stay.

I like that the location was close to bus and train station with Lidl and Tesco nearby and Newport shopping mall also nearby. I also like that I can make my own food in the property and it has a very good size lounge/living area where guest can relax, eat and have good view of the location. It has house facilities like fridge/freezer, oven, toaster, microwave, boiling kettle, pans, plates, cups etc it’s more like a family home and I love it.

I didn’t like the level of cleanliness which is why I gave 7. The first room I was given, the bed sheets was dirty meaning it was not changed prior new guest coming. I requested for new bedsheets and the staff decided to move me to another room which I accepted and in the second room I moved to the bedsheets was not still clean and I called the staff to show her the bedsheets which the staff confirmed it was dirty. This situation goes back to the cleaners and the domestic supervisors. The domestic supervisors need to supervise the work of the cleaners to ensure they are compliant to infection control protocols based on the hotel policies and ensure beddings are changed after each guest use and ensure surfaces are wiped down with disinfectant spray. Aside the beddings issue every other things was very pleasant and I will recommend to others and will revisit when next in Newport.

Its very close to the town , Hospital and made my stay comfrtable. Staff very nice especially Mr John at the reception who was always very helpfull

Kitchen not supplied with soap and sponge to wash utensils. Partion walls between room very thinck and not sound proof as results you can hear snoring from next room. Few people very very noisy in their room and I had to knock their door few time at night.

Reception staff super friendly and helpful. Room was basic but very spacious and clean. Couldn’t get to grips with heating but quickly sorted by reception and was given an electric one for my stay.

Room was cold but that was easily sorted. Wasn’t told I needed to use fob to lock as well as unlock door. But I was the only one in my block so no biggy.

Prepared my own breakfast as it was not close to a cafe, as far as I could tell. There's a toaster and kettle. Standard student accommodation. Friendly staff. Allowed to take bike into room.

Beyond basic

Location was an easy walk to town.

Room was tiny Shower was tiny and made the whole bathroom flood Sink was miniscule Bed was tiny Room was stupidly hot with no option of aircon or to open a window a good amount to cool it Noisy location Stupid people having huge domestics at 3am until 6am keeping everyone awake Cooking facilities were poor, nothing there to use regarding utensils No facilities in the room to keep drinks cool

Good value for money. Handy for Newport city centre. There are supermarkets nearby but no bars or clubs so it was quiet.

Room so basic for the money complete rip off tbf. Dirty towels the shower virtually on top of the toilet. Key phob was shite. Would never return.

Functional, very basic

The room was functional, there was a bed, shower, sink and desk. Bed was comfy.

The room was small, there was no air con and no way to get any real air flow in the room, so it was hot and muggy all the time. with it being next to two main routes and having to keep a window open, it was just so noisy because of this with traffic. Shower was tiny and the curtain didn't cover the whole ares, so the entire bathroom would be sprayed and the drain could not keep up with the water volume, so the entire floor was under water. No hand soap of any kind supplied, sink was tiny and barely functional. The kitchen was a communal one with very little to actually cook with, so that was pointless The second night, some people decided to come back and have a full blown argument for 3hrs in the corridor, then get their friends to help out for another hour, then carry on banging and slamming things about in their room, despite being told to be quiet, so frustrating. No parking whatsoever either.

The accommodation and staff far exceeded our exceptions

The staff explained everything: they were there 24/7. They and one staff member in particular who had a broken arm helped us with our laundry. The student village has an exceptionally good environmental policy and an extremely low carbon footprint. The kitchen is spacious with a lounge area and there is a great leisure room with a TV, table tennis, and a further kitchen. The room had new, ample furniture, a strong shower, and a very cozy double bed. The room temperature was perfect.

The village is a good 20 minutes from the train station and with roadworks we had to cross the roads at times to find a pavement. This is challenging with luggage, but there are taxis and Ubers for those who want them and there are many trains to Cardiff.

Good clean, basic accommodation.

Booked this to stay after Oasis gig as hotels in Cardiff were outrageously expensive. Newport is approximately 15 mins away on the train. Property is a 15-20 min walk from the station. Accommodation was really clean. Linen and towels provided. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom adequate. Access to a kitchen with kettle, toaster etc basic crockery and cutlery.

Everything you could want at this reasonable price.

The bedroom was clean, nice and practical. Quiet, considering there was a busy road nearby. I didn't hear the traffic at all.The bed was comfortable and the shower room was a good size. The staff were very helpful and kind. I would book to stay here again.

It was a bit tricky getting from the town centre to the hotel as there was building work happening nearby. But I'm sure it will be easier once the works have finished.

Would definitely use again as it was very convenient and comfortable despite the building work

It was a very comfortable room. The shower was amazing. Parking was not available on site but very easy and cheap at Asda 2 minutes away. The staff at the front desk were really friendly and helpful too.

As there was building work going on, it was very noisy in the morning - I was woken up with a loud bang at 8:30 which was a little early after a late night

The room was huge, nicely laid out. Asda was nearby so self catering was easy. Good location once you get your bearings , but taxi only £6.

A couple of weeks stay in city centre budget accommodation

I had a room in a five bed apartment with shared kitchen. Each bedroom has a its own secure electronic key fob. Three or four out of the five rooms were occupied during my stay, the other occupants were fairly sporty, they left early in the morning to go to a local gym before going to work at the local hospital. My gym is only 300 metres away, the riverfront path passes right next to these apartments. There is an ASDA supermarket just across the road. The City's main bus station is one kilometer away, the railway station is a bit further. In short, the location is pretty good. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. Reception will take in parcel deliveries for the residents and there is an efficient do-it-yourself laundry room

The room is a bit small for a long stay but I've had hotel rooms that were smaller. The room can be a bit warm when it is warm outside. Occasionally, outside noise can be a distraction.

Nice Weekend Getaway

I’ve stayed at Newport Student Village many times over the years now. It really cannot be matched on value for money. Each room at the accommodation has access to a shared kitchen, which can save travellers a lot of money on food bills. The location is also perfect: it’s situated in a peaceful and quiet area right next to a lake with a nice path to take evening strolls; it’s also very near to the town centre. The staff here working on reception are some of the most friendly and polite people I’ve ever come across - they really are a credit to Newport Student Village! Highly recommend this place. 5*
