Had a brilliant weekend celebrating a big birthday.

The property is in an excellent location overlooking the sea, has easy access to all the bars, restaurants and shops. It’s big bright clean and airy and perfect for a group to celebrate a birthday.

It was perfect for our needs as we were celebrating a big birthday so didn’t have to worry about making too much noise as the bars nearby are quite noisy. Not sure it would be great for a family stay but for a group wishing to celebrate an occasion, it’s perfect.

Disappointing

The view from the lounge

The house is next to an extremely noisy bar which is open until 4/5 am some nights. There is a warning on the Sykes website about this but not at all obvious if booking through Booking.com. It really spoiled our time at the house particularly as we were there with a family member who had just been in hospital and a baby. In addition the house was not clean. We left early as in became intolerable

Get Location But Needs Some TLC

The location is amazing and the view from the front of the house in 3 of the bedrooms and the living room you could totally enjoy all day without moving. It’s close to everything you’d need, supermarket literally next door and a lovely cafe. Great to have a bathroom and bedroom each.

The property wasn’t clean at all in the living room and kitchen, we found food, a dirty fridge and even in the toilets very dirty brushes. The front door mortice lock kept really sticking. I also queried parking with Sykes Cottage’s and after 3 attempts gave up. Very unresponsive and then had the audacity to as for a review of their service. It really feels like it’s managed by a company, no sense of its presentation, cleaning or care for such a lovely house.

Very good and enjoyable with a couple of hiccups.

Very spacious and comfortable

I was disappointed that I called the emergency number on Monday 26th as I had a blocked toilet in my room. The chap on the phone assured me they would send someone out either that day or on the Tuesday. This never happened. And our room was left with a horrible smell in it as we could not flush the toilet. And it was very noisy on the Sunday night as the bar next door stayed open till 4am in the morning.

Apart from the kitchen cleanliness and the noise from the bar next door it was a fabulous stay.

The kitchen facilities were very good but we did have to clean all the cutlery plates cups glasses etc. the bin was filthy too.

Wonderful Trip

The house was first class with a number of, bathrooms all with excellent showers and baths. The dining kitchen was in the basement with, again, excellent equipment and a huge dining table. The living room above was very comfortable and had a lovely view of Weymouth Bay and beach. The bedrooms were finished to the same high standard as the rest of the house. A car parking space to the rear of the house was very handy. Highly recommended by us all.

We had gone prepared for a night club nearby with ear plugs but we never heard a peep and all slept very soundly. The biggest disturbance was from the early rising seagulls but they affect the whole town and are a part of the seaside carry on..

House, facilities, beds, bathrooms exceptional. High quality fixtures and fittings, smart TVs and all the equipment we needed.

The noise until 4am, is really tough on sleeping quality. But it was what we were expecting and the price you pay for the location, on the beach in the centre of the town.
