Apartment - The Historical Center of Funchal in Alojamento Local

Really comfortable, very well-equipped, and clean apartment within walking distance of the center of Funchal. There was a parking space in the garage. Highly recommended!

Die Lage direkt neben der Altstadt ist optimal - zentral, aber trotzdem nicht laut. Cristina hat uns pünktlich empfangen, sie war flexibel und sehr freundlich und hat uns erklärt, was wir wissen mussten. Die Wohnung ist top ausgestattet mit allem, was man braucht; das Bett ist sehr bequem.

Wenn man überhaupt einen negativen Punkt nennen soll: Es gab zwar viele TV-Sender, aber keinen deutschsprachigen.

The fully equipped kitchen is great and very spacious. A proper coffee machine - always great to have. The balcony in the living room with a nice afternoon sun. The location is great, easy to walk anywhere in town. Enough proper chairs and closets. The apartment is actually quite nice and has its potential. It is the way it is kept which made me feel uncomfortable. Deep cleaning needed! I appreciate the owner's will to help. He was always available, offering help.

Check in 1.5 hour later than the official time. The cleaning is doubtful - especially the shower area moldy. There were hair on the sofa. The towels I received smelled bad, not fresh. Same for the bed/sofa cover. The washing machine is so old that it is almost impossible to make it work (no instructions, no display, no time or rinse spin speed). It only works partially, cause the clothes come out totally soaked. When I reported this, the advice was: 'Try another program.' The building is not a pleasant place - very dark, full of flies. You hear absolutely everything in the apartment - every neighbors' word, shouting, dogs barking.. The kitchen is full of ants immediately once you leave a piece of fruit or food outside. I would not stay here again.
