Apartamentos Sousa

The apartment is really nice, well located and with amazing views. The stay was comfortable and being by the old town, we could move around the centre of Funchal by walking. Even if it has no parking, it was no problem to find spots nearby (and there's a paid parking lot 50 meters away as well).

Thre are two things that could be improved to give guests a better improvement: - The flat lacks an air conditioner and in very sunny days, being at the top floor, it gets a bit hot; probably an AC would improve the experience significantly - It seems the drain in the bath room is not working well and sometimes gets smelly

The place was clean and tidy, the facilities were great and as described.

There is some noise from the street, we were in the gorund floor room and it was noticeable.

It’s a perfect place for a week stay. I must say this is THE cleanest accommodation with a kitchen I’ve ever seen travelling around Europe. I’m extremely cleanness freak with high Asian hygiene standards and this place didn’t fail a bit. Location is very convenient too. You have all the kitchen supplies and washing machine are both handy for a relaxing holiday. Sergio is a nice host and replied in minutes when you need any support. Personally didn’t experience much noise issue as others mentioned. We stayed for a week and only heard party sounds on Friday and Saturday nights but it wasn’t noticeable after 11pm.

The AC is a portable one and can only be placed in the living area so it might be too warm during the night for some. I would recommend during summer nights the bedding provided can be thinner.

It was clean, I liked the location, even though it was on the edge of the old town, it was close to the beach. The staff were excellent. Also, it seems they take these comments seriously, because all previous complains had been fixed, there was oil, salt, vinegar, coffee. Tea, cookies, and the kitchen had all the basic appliances. Also there is laundry!

As others have noted, the street noise from cars was terrible on the ground floor.
