Riad Moha

From the moment I walked into the Riad, it was an oasis of calm and comfort. The proprietor was welcoming and helped me through the gates into his private courtyard with my motorcycle. He immediately offered me tea and made me feel incredibly welcome. The room I was shown to was exceptional. Beautifully decorated and so clean I could have eaten my dinner from any horizontal surface. In comparison to so many of the places I have stayed in on this trip, it was clear that the guy who runs it takes immense pride in his work. The bed was beautifully made with scrupulously clean. white linen and the branded fluffy towels were a lovely touch. I was the only guest for the two days that I stayed at Riad Moha and when I asked about local places to eat, I was offered dinner with the proprietor - and I gladly accepted. Breakfast was already included, but for EUR10 extra per night, he cooked me two very delicious meals, taking into account my preferences. Whilst this was home cooking, not restaurant quality meals, for the money (and given that I was his only guest) I was blown away by the quality of the cooking. Three delightful courses that left me very happy indeed. Whist I was staying at the Riad, I had asked for recommendations for local quad biking and camel riding - and the proprietor arranged for both of these for me at a reasonable cost and with reliable guides. More than that, he took me to the meeting points for each activity and personally made sure that I was brought back to the Riad afterwards. I also had cause to need to visit the pharmacy during my stay and he very kindly took me into town in his car and helped me source the items I needed. If you ever want to visit Merzouga and are looking through the options for accommodation, look no further than Riad Moha. The literal only thing I can write here is that the Riad is a mile or so from the centre of town. But this is also why you want to stay here, it's quiet and really not that far if you need anything. And the Erg Chebbi is walkable in the evening if you want some sand between your toes after dinner!

Riad Moha was excellent! The location was very convenient, you can walk to town with shops and restaurants and you can walk to the dunes. The place was very clean, the owner was constantly cleaning. The host was very generous and helpful helped me get transport back to Erfoud. He also provided a wonderful breakfast. The room was huge and luxurious and comfortable! Got a good night's sleep.

Ne voulant pas dépenser une fortune dans les nombreuses tentes qui sont proposées dans cette ville, j'ai opté pour ce riad. L'accueil est chaleureux, la grandeur de la chambre et du lit est fort bien agréable, une vraie bonne douche et un roof top parfait pour un thé à la menthe sous les étoiles. Je me suis baladé en début de soirée dans les dunes pas loin qui sont facilement accessible depuis l'hôtel. Grimpez au sommet pour une vue panoramique sur la ville et le désert!
