Very convenient parking, and the location is close to both Maastricht and Valkenburg. There is a kitchen that meets basic needs, the bedroom is on the ground floor, and the bathroom is very spacious.
The heating seemed insufficient, and the provided blanket was quite thin, so it felt very cold at night.

Good value for money and amazing location! And thank you so much for the decorated Christmas tree in the living room! I loved the option to have breakfast (15 per adult and 8 per child; our 3-year old was for free) and it was very good. Slightly later than standard check-out at 11am was also very appreciated. We stayed in a Comfort house with a fully equipped kitchen and a nice living room with a new looking couch. Water was hot with a good pressure.
It’s of course an old building and I was prepared to the old house smell. What I was disappointed at was amount of dog hairs and dust on the floor! Dust was openly visible everywhere, and it looked that it wasn’t cleaned for months! I almost had a heart attack when I saw my kid blue fleece grey with dust and covered with little dog hairs after just 10 min playing on a floor while we were bringing suitcases on. My god! You can see dust mountains under beds, along the walls, on bedside lamps… We had a dark fleece blanket with us and it got immediately covered as if I had an old god sitting on it! I also heard other guests complaining about wet dog smell in the other house. To us we were told that there was an increase in families with dogs visiting for Christmas and New year because it is so quiet there. But for me it looked that it was not property cleaned for months! My recommendation for the owners is to have dogs-free rooms for those who don’t like them and especially those with allergies, because they will not survive a night there. This made such an impression on me that - unfortunately- spoiled my impression from the overall nice holiday option.

The homes are set in castle grounds. You will not stay in the castle itself and that is deceptive.
The beds were not comfortable and rooms were very minimal. The pictures were not accurate as it was not clear which room will be allocated to you.

The location was lovely, plenty of walks and a view (but no access to) the castle
Room was very umcomfortable and did not meet expectations based on photos on the booking ad. A steep set of stairs we did not know would be there, caused trouble for an elderly (but otherwise fit) guest, esp as there was no toilet upstairs. The 3rd bed was not full sized so would only suit short people. Concerns were raised on the first day but staff said that was to be expected in an older building. It was also very noisy and cold but someone did increase the heat when we requested this. We ended up leaving a day early as it was not the relaxing get away we were hoping for.

Unique location. Wonderful old castle close to Maastricht. But unfortunately not a place we recommend...
Hidden fees! Be careful what you book. We paid double (!) the amount of the actual "booking" bill. A hotel of this class should not charge for towels (?) and bedlinen and the service to make a bed. What is this? Who is traveling with towels these days? The information is hidden in the information. I found out after it was impossible to cancel. So be careful or you experience a bad surprise...

Great location but a very basic room. Expensive for what you get.
Liked the little garden
Old and in need of modernisation

Great location, with possibilities for walking or enjoying village life.
Beautiful little apartments in historic building.
Kitchen seemed quite complete, tv available, outdoor seating (which may be used also by others in other apartments)
- Note that the room does not come with bed linen, towels or, for example, tiny soap to wash your hands. As we were there for one night only, we hadn't realized we should have brought those things
- The shower is in the bath, but the glass shower door is very small/short, so bathroom floor and everything does get very wet (one of those typical holiday houses annoyances ;-))

The castle itself is beautiful, of course could use some restoration but maybe that's just my professional eye. But keep in mind the hotel is next to it, but you as a tourist aren't allowed to go to the castle because in theory the way to it is blocked..of course I saw some people there but I'm not going to break rules.
At the beginning I was angry with myself that I didn't take the premium house, but after I saw the standard one cleaning situation, which I guess would be the same I realised I avoided paying even more for so little. To understand, when I returned from there after 4 days my skin was full of acne and is not a normal thing for me, not to mention I don't have water sensibilities and I was coming from Randstad not another country. The bed sheets I received, to put myself.... horror, yellowish, I did my best to select from two pillow covers the less affected one. Dust was everywhere and I can't tell you what was behind the bed frame unfortunately my pillow fell there during the last night and I didn't use it anymore so the last night I slept without one, I can't even imagine my face if I would have used it. The stuff...no talent with hospitality, ok I understand the clique of being Dutch and cold but come on you are in the hospitality business. When I arrived I waited 10 minutes for the lady to stop talking with a couple at a restaurant table and came to ask me if she could help me as I evidently had luggage with me, and don't imagine she was somewhere in another room she was 3 m next to me , ignoring my presence. The second bad experience was actually one morning, 2 days before I left, after which I honestly wanted to leave directly on the spot. First another tourist was looking in my house on the back window of the building. The view was of the living room, I could have been in my underwear, fortunately not, strange thing 10 minutes later I was exiting my vacation house to go for a walk and the same individual was in a discussion with the "gentleman" who was also doing the cooking in the restaurant...call it coincidence but I was a solo traveling foreign woman so please allow me to ask myself questions.

Very nice location and great surroundings. The location is next to a nice castle and some fields/forest. It was fairly easy to find. The location is walkable to Valkenburg (about 30 min) where you can find plenty of restaurants and bars.
The place looked outdated, and what I really did not like was that when we entered, we smelled gas. The stove was on and we had to ventilate the whole house. Very dangerous!
For the price of the stay, they could provide some toiletries or even two bags of tea...

NOTHING! STAY AWAY
This is the WORST experience I’ve had in my life. The photos are completely misleading, fake. The stay is extremely overpriced for what you get.
There are no curtains in the bedrooms
They charge you for sheets and towels and you have to make your own bed.
The place is filled with huge spiders and bugs
Not clean not nice
PLEASE save yourself a bad experience and NEVER stay here!
HORRIBLE!!!

The first thing to say is that this is a stunning area to stay in. The adjacent castle is wonderful to look at, and the surroundings are splendid to walk around. Valkenburg itself is worth a number of days to explore. We would probably go back.
We got a surprise when we were told that there would be an extra fee for bed linen and towels. It seems that Dutch folk take these with them on holiday to keep the price down, but we were unaware of this, and by then it was too late to go elsewhere. Shame. Then we were pointed towards our room which happened to be a whole house - actually a number of small rooms upstairs and a kitchen and toilet on the ground floor. The bed was all you could get in the main bedroom. There was an air of mediaeval authenticity about the place, which made us feel we were staying somewhere special, but we're a bit old for that to be honest. Descending the creaking staircase to go to the toilet in the middle of the night isn't all it is cracked up to be either - at least it wasn't an outside toilet.

Fantastic location at the foot of the Schaloen castle, in the midst of beautiful rural scenery. Great location for walking and cycling. Lots of space to sit outside. Friendly staff. There is a restaurant available on site which can also serve breakfast if you want. Also comes with a beautiful garden right next to to castle at the water mill.
Be aware of tight parking space on busy days. The area around the castle is a hot-spot for tourists.
If you're a cyclist, make sure your are ready for the steep hills of South-Limburg.

Great location, not far from village Valkenburg (walking distance).
Breakfast was ok-ish, limited choice (understandable since not many guests, but still)

The apartment was really nice and big. The position was for me perfect.
I personally don't like that I had to pay an extra to get the sheets for the beds.
It was written in the description, but to be honest I didn't saw it.
Usually, the sheets are included in the price (this is my experience according all the apartment I've rent with Booking).
The ladder inside the apartment was a bit to narrow.
The rest was OK.

The holiday house are amazing as well as the location which was perfect. It was silent and very cozy... And magical... Very nice for family walking distance to several places.
People were also very friendly. Good price.
Just the ventilator in bathroom was very loud for long. Some details in the cleaning could improve.

Well equipped kitchen, clean, spacious living room. Very hospitable staff. They offer lots of information about the area and the accommodation. Nice walking area around the place. It is peacefull and very quaint. Far away enough from the city to enjoy the nature, but close enough to just pop over.
Breakfast was a bit standard. Parking can get a little bit tricky with a larger car when it's already crowded, but it's managable.

Totally surprising site in a very old building . Extremely quiet during the night.
No restaurant available for the dinner; They close the kitchen at 5PM and the bar at 6PM

The location is nice, and so are the views. The staff was friendly. Breakfast times are way too late for a family with small children or of those who are early birds. In general, this place is not child friendly
The website is misleading. It really is too expensive for what they offer. The bathroom was very dirty. This is not a hotel, but a small apartment. the breakfast starts at 09:00 way too late with small children.

All around our group (29) was very happy. Staff very accommodating, friendly and very flexible changing times for meals. Highly recommended.
Food was great. Area and overall experience top notch.
WiFi was spotty.

Very friendly staff. Fantastic historical property.
Beautiful grounds. And also in a great location to visit local tourist attractions etc.
We had to remember to close the windows before evening otherwise lots of mosquitos would come in the rooms. This was a very hot period so probably more mosquitos than normal. And fans were supplied in the bedrooms.
Plus the old building and thick walls kept things pretty cool anyway.

Beautiful location, friendly personnel
Sadly, a lot of things (including the castle gardens and the hotel restaurant/bar) are still closed on mondays and tuesdays. There are plenty of alternatives in town, though there many (not all) things are closed on both days as well.

The location is great. The building is unique.
This is not a hotel.
Set your expectations.
You need to bring everything - bed sheets, towels, toilet paper, soap for the shower.
After 18:00 no one was in the reception. You have no one to talk to if you find out you have a problem like "n toilet paper in the room
