Quiet location just walking distance to town. Friendly staff upon arrival room was large and very clean as was the pool ! A great restaurant downstairs from our room we ate at one of the nights we stayed. Food was excellent and waitress very helpful despite us not speaking Portuguese she went out of her way to make sure we ate well. also close to Monsaraz the medieval village and fort.

Perhaps I didn't read the Booking.com details of this property carefully enough, but we didn't realise that it was a) literally next door to a commercial set-up with one or two lorries coming and going, (one large and noisy at 5.30am) and b) that with the restaurant closed "for holidays", there was no evening meal or breakfast available. Access off the wonderfully empty R381 was good, we were greeted by "mine hostess" who explained that other than a bed for the night , there was nothing here for us. We paid her, she recommended two restaurants in nearby Reguengos de Monsaraz, both of which were closed, and we eventually found a Tapas Bar for an evening meal. Parking in the town is a nightmare. Be warned. We returned to the property late, let ourselves in and slept well, despite the outside traffic. We left the following morning, breakfast-less and without seeing management, if there was any !
