Hostal El Carmen

Available to book right before the eclipse, checking in was quick and easy, and the staff was absolutely wonderful. For what it normally is, it's a perfectly adequate room to crash in if you'll mostly be out in town doing things. The location is perfect - it's walking distance to most of the big attractions in Zaragoza, including El Pilar and the Aljaferia. Transit is also very close, with the tram only 2 blocks away. I stayed 9 days to hang out in town and get a feel of life in Zaragoza, and the hostel's central location was key to this goal. I would definitely stay again if I needed a reasonably priced accommodation here!

The room could use some cosmetic TLC. And it is a hostel, so there may be the occasional group of 20-somethings being silly at late hours. I booked expecting this though, so it really wasn't a bother.

Great location easy walk to every thing. Take the tram from the river through to the squares. Cheap as chips.

The rom was a bit out dated. Needs a little freshener.

Very clean, good location, windows block road noise.

The walls are a bit thin and we can hear the other rooms well

Cheap Central Friendly

My room needs a renovation ... I know it's a hostel and I'm not talking about mahagoni, marble and golden doornobs, but sometimes a room needs a little bit of maintenance, fixing and replacements ;-) In comparison to modern hostels (same price or cheaper!) there is definitely some room for improvements especially to make the rooms more comfy...
