Santa Maura

It was right in the centre of Nydri, about 50 steps to the beach or pool. Lovely welcoming staff and nice room with balcony. Nice to have a kettle in the room although we didn’t use it. The room was quite large and the air con worked well. We loved the pool, so clean and quiet! In August we were the only guests there at the pool. My son loved the quietness. Easy to go across the road for a coffee or frozen yoghurt. Very close to shops and restaurants - unwittingly we ate at the very same restaurant as I’d visited on my last trip to Nydri 24 years ago! (Called panorama - v good. Plus found the old apartment no longer called Gregoris apartment now called sunny Garden!) Parking is free at this hotel and you drive past the hotel then take the first left.

It would have been nice if the management had sent a message before our arriving explaining about the parking. Where. How to access the code etc. The guy on reception came out and helped us. There was a lot of noise from the bar late at night opposite across the street. Until around 2am (maraboo I think) the balcony doors are double glazed so this did drown it out slightly. The lift to the second floor is very tight and could be claustrophobic to some. It has no internal wall so like an old fashioned lift. It worked though and could fit one person in with a big suitcase fine.

Location was excellent, right in the middle of nydri and walking distance to everything you could need. The balcony off the front offered a great spot to see what was going on and people watch.

Typical of euro accom the bathrooms and shower were very small.

Amazing location. Very helpful staff. Definitely stay there again.

Clean and dark with shutters closed fridge was handy

Aircon was old not overly good, bathroom and cooling area was old and not very effective, pool area needs some care, not sure if it was broken but there was water being pumped in constantly. Pillows were terrible.
