Park Hotel Marinetta - Beach & Spa

The whole area is very well taken care of. We loved the little pine forest and the spotless clean ways all around the resort. The room was spacious, modern and super clean. We enjoyed the large balcony. The beach was fabulous, not too crowded and with good vibes. It was quiet though to many guests. The lifeguards on duty are a plus cause there are many kids. The free parking was a plus. It was safe and we could even drive right in front to the entrance of our room. The supermarket close by is a plus as well. Breakfast was outstanding, we didn’t miss a single thing and enjoyed it a lot! Also it wasn’t too crowded and we loved that we had the same table for our whole stay. The pool areas are separated between “adults only” and “child friendly” which we loved!

The staff wasn’t too friendly - with exceptions. We didn’t feel very welcome when we talked to the staff at the reception which was a minus. Also it was horribly loud one night caused to young people hanging out at the park nearby and listening to loud music in the middle of the night. The room we had faced the public area right next to the resort so people passed by the whole night! When we told the staff the next day it was kinda “oh, it’s the public area, not our fault!” - no go! We had the feeling that the staff didn’t take care if you’re happy or not. The bed made so many noises during the night, I woke up the second I moved a bit. You get to pay a whole lot for food and drinks within the resort. We had lunch at the beach bar twice, it was ridiculous expensive to what you got. Though the staff there was amazing.

All the staff we met they were all extremely friendly and gentle. I cannot say anything bad about them. We were travelling with 2 small children (2 years & 7 months), once we finished the milk before bedtime and the shops were already closed, we asked the restaurant if they could gave us some fresh milk and they filled our baby bottle without any problems. The breakfast was included in the rate, it was delicious and there was a lot of choice. We had half board so the dinner was also included, again it was great and many things to choose from, even an area for kid’s menu. The garden which leads to the beach was nice, there were enough sun beds with umbrellas. There was a small playground for kids and some entertainment facilities for a bit bigger kids than ours. There was a welcome drink with a letter placed in the room, it was a nice gesture. At the end we got a discount as we had some problems during our stay.

We were not satisfied with our room. First of all the elevator was kind of built-in in our room, which made it very noisy especially in the kids’ room. We asked for another room but they said all rooms with sea-view were at the same position in the building, even though we didn’t care about the sea view any longer (also because I wouldn’t call it sea view), they offered us a slightly smaller room on the ground floor with only one room (we originally booked a junior suite with 2 separate rooms), but we didn’t accept due to the children having to sleep during the day. Another big issue for me was the cleaning. Besides it’s an old facility, it should really need some renovation, it was also very dirty and not well cleaned. I complained about it after the first day, that the curtain had a really disgusting dirty spot close to the floor, they never cleaned it! There were some leftovers behind the desk from previous people who stayed in the room, also never cleaned. In the restaurant we asked to change the table since we had to bring the stroller for our baby girl and it was uncomfortable to get there once there were other people sitting in the way and had to ask them to stand up in order to reach our table. After 4 days they finally changed it. Before our arrival we asked about the cribs, they said they could provide only one, so we bought another one for the other child, but once we entered the room we found 2 cribs. (600 km in total with a brand new crib we never used and bought for this purpose.) The beach is not really suitable for small kids, the water gets deep rapidly and close to the shore, it’s also full of small rocks where you get in the water. And sometimes there were really big waves we couldn’t bring them in. Once we wanted to have lunch at the beach and went to the beach bar, but it turned out you cannot pay by card and cannot even put it in your hotel room, so we couldn’t get anything since we didn’t bring any cash to the beach.
