Mercure Tagungs- & Landhotel Krefeld

Nice and quiet. Lovely setting.

Room was rather warm to the point of being a little uncomfortable.

The hotel is in a very quiet and relaxing area of the town, behind charming brick houses and fields. It has its own restaurant and other amenities which we weren’t able to use as we only stayed for one night. The property accommodates dogs which was great, and the environment was quiet and calm for our pet who slept very well. Reception staff was very helpful both at check-in and check-out, despite slow computer system and a few time wasters in the queue.

It’s a shame but I think the hotel has seen better days. Whilst it still looks modern from the outside, there are some very obvious areas of improvement. We had booked two rooms and whilst one was nice and cool with a working AC the other one was stuffy and the AC did not make a difference at all. Every door I’ve seen was damaged at the bottom with chipped paint and water damaged bathroom doors. Black tile grout looked unclean and whilst the bathrooms were generally clean and tidy, these black stains in the shower were not very nice. We had booked a 12 noon checkout but had a cleaner waiting outside our room from 10:15am - which was strange a little annoying. The cleaner also screamed at us when she saw our dog, claiming she was afraid and to “get it away” when the small cuddly dog never even got anywhere near her. A bit odd for a dog friendly hotel.

Clean, nice rooms, restaurant very good and nice people.

Not a lot of parking space outside.

the A/C was not working despite the high temperature.
