A fabulous, very affordable stay with great service and in a good location.

Family of 4 staying 3 nights. We were upgraded to a fabulous room (the Ouessant) on the 4th floor. The view over the river, with the city in the background, was amazing. The bed was very comfortable. The sofa bed was good too but only had a sheet and blanket. We could have asked for extra covers though! The room decor looked a little bit tired but honestly the view was so fab and our stay was very affordable so I'd rather have that then sparkling decor and a higher price tag. Also, it was well-equipped: there were slippers, dressing gowns, a mini-bar, a coffee machine with capsules as well as a kettle with tea and coffee facilities and a water cooler just outside the lift. The toilettries were the Ritual brand. The staff were great, so helpful, kind and friendly without being overbearing. The breakfast was excellent. Varied, copious and good quality with something to suit every palate. The location was great too...there is a tram stop just outside (public transport is free at the weekends) and the centre is just a short walk across the bridge and past the hospital. There is paid parking but there are also some free spaces at the front of the hotel. I loved my stay and would thoroughly recommend the hotel. Thanks for a super time! février 2026

If I had to nit-pick I'd suggest they have toilet brushes and check regularly the conditioner bottle is topped up as I only discovered it virtually empty when I was in the midst of washing my hair.

Walkable distance to the centre

The staff was fantastic - the day we were checking out my husband got very sick and the staff was so nice. There was a young man helping us with hot water and general assistance. Because of this, we stayed an additional day and this member of the staff helped get us a room immediately which was highly appreciated. The location is convenient, walkable to the city centre but distant enough from the buzz. Breakfast was great as well.

We booked the biggest room and while it was superconvenient in terms of space the room was smelling like one of this old rooms were people were allowed to smoke - the hotel has probably tried their best to improve that but the smell is still noticeable.

Only thing I noticed but wasn’t a problem for us were tables were still dirty when we arrived If it was busy then would have been a problem waiting for them to be cleaned with young children and baby

Expected more from a four star Hotel

It was within walking distance of the centre and staff were polite.

Parking is atrocious, anything from a SUV or bigger and you will find it next to impossible to park underground as the space to navigate down to the underground is extremely narrow and you can prepare your wallet for new alloys in entrance to the the car park. The other annoyance was the fact that there wasn’t much hot food when we had breakfast, scrabbled eggs and sausages was the only two things available. I think there should be more hot food available for a 4 star hotel.

Handy location, price reflects what you can expect for your money

- Free parking - Good location, relatively short walk to centre of town - Easy for family of four to stay in one room with sofa bed

- Room wasn’t ready by check in time - Eggs at breakfast tasted a bit strange - Due to location on edge of city centre there is nothing open on Sunday. This is not the hotels fault but just for noting to other guests that not even the local carrefour city shop is open on Sunday - property is a little dated but the price reflects this. Exterior is quite grubby and needs a clean up

Great hotel, supergood brekfast

The hotel has a great location and offers flexible check-in (we arrived during the night). The staff is very friendly and also speaks English. Even the small details in the hotel are thoughtfully planned – there’s a clean drinking water dispenser on the floor, and the rooms are equipped with a great hairdryer and quality toiletries. Everything works well, and the hotel feels cozy and charming. A special mention goes to the excellent breakfast at an incredibly reasonable price. Definitely the best experience of our entire trip. The current rating doesn’t do it justice – this hotel deserves more. Highly recommended!

The hotel parking is payable which is strange, so where do you expect guest to park? Parkings in hotels are supposed to be free as we pay staying there.

Disappointing and not going back

Reception friendly. Breakfast manageress terrible. Hotel needs an up-date. It is NOT 4 Star! We cancelled second reservation and booked elsewhere for 4 star at 70% price, better location and better quality!

Nice hotel overlooking the Loire for nice sunsets

Good location, we had a view to the river and could see the main cathedral. Nice staff, underground parking available. Note when you are given the code for the parking, enter it straight away although the gate is much further. Else you need to run back up.

Very lovely staff, they would go the extra mile to help, I lost one of my airpod after checking out and the lovely Anne and other staffs went all out to find it for me. The hotel is right in the centre which is very convenient.

Nadia on reception the evening we arrived was absolutely brilliant. really friendly and helpful and great energy. gave excellent advice. the room was large and comfortable and clean

the times for breakfast and the restaurant. lack of choice and make daytime staff very snooty and dismissive. booking.com also advertises this property at 4km from Nantes airport but it is a lot more than that by car and means an expensive taxi ride- when your flight is cancelled and you’re looking for somewhere close by this is not the answer! No decent food close by or shops. scruffy area that doesn’t feel too safe.

I didn't find the bed as comfortable as other Novotel hotels but my wife did. So maybe it was me or one of those nights. Also we were offered slippers and a dressing gown in another Novotel hotel in Bordeaux but not this one. Nothing major but offering slippers is a nice touch

really great customer service. we got great advice on where to drink and eat and they couldn’t be more helpful.

free public transport from outside the hotel and just far enough out of town so not too noisy at night. clean and decent bathroom

we got what we paid for - we didn’t have breakfast as it was £17 euro for adults so quite a lot compared with restaurants
