Lovely staff but the facilities need some work

It was very central to everything. The front lobby was beautiful

A welcoming, comfortable hotel with friendly staff

The warm welcome on arrival was great. The room was spacious, warm and very comfortable. The bar was welcoming with a good selection of drinks. It is very close to good restaurants and shops. We will definitely come and stay here again.

Excellent hotel, located centrally with staff that really make you feel welcome.

Staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome. The rooms were excellent and so spacious and bright with lovely balconies looking onto the street below. Breakfast was plentiful and a great selection was available. The central location was a bonus.

A good hotel in a fantastic location but don't expect 4 star luxury

This is probably one of the best located hotels in Nantes. Right on the main square. It's an old hotel with a bit of character and the onsite car park is a real bonus if you can get a space. The staff were very helpful.

This hotel is rated as a 4 star. I understand that these ratings are often based on the facilities on offer so: yes, it has a fitness room - it's very small. It has a bar but it feels like it's been shoved into a dark corner of the reception and it has a small car park. We didn't take breakfast but at 20 Euros a head it seemed pretty pricey. The 'glasses' for drinks in the bedrooms are paper cups. Lastly - the beds are horrendous (in our opinion). If you have a double bed, you literally can't move on it without the whole bed moving. So two people sharing a bed is a rollercoaster ride all night. The floors of the bedrooms are wood and the beds are Scandinavian style - with wooden legs - and so light that you can actually lift them off the floor. So they literally move around the floor when your roll over in bed. Basically, the hotel need to fix the bed frames to floors and the wall to stop them drifting. We ended up complaining on the second night and asked for a second room so we could have a bed each. The hotel did accommodate this which was great of them.

Perfect location in the centre of Nantes

Room was modern, spacious with large bathroom. Extremely well situated in the centre of town close to shopping and restaurants. Room was quiet despite being in the centre of the action.

The lobby furniture is extremely dated which leads one to worry about the rooms until you get to them.

Perfect location for a city break

Everything was amazing - from the location, the friendly faces on arrival, the size of the room and the amenities. Everything was a delighted and I could not recommend this hotel enough to anyone.

Easy to miss due to the busy street so make sure to have your maps on when you are locating it!

Brilliant, apart from the breakfast experience on Sunday morning

The reception staff were exceptional, providing outstanding service (10/10). The facilities were as described and of a good standard. The hotel has a very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere generally.

The breakfast offerings were limited in variety. Basic items, such as eggs, were not readily available, and we had to request them specifically from the kitchen staff. Additionally, the kitchen staff could have been a little more welcoming.

If we return to Nantes no other place to stay!

We stayed at the 4 star Oceania in Nantes for just one night and wish we had booked it for the two nights we had spent the week before at the supposed 4 star Novotel on the Loire which is more like 3 star maximum there! No comparison with the Oceania which was fresh, clean, characterful being a converted stableyard and home to the owner ( Graslin) in the 18th century after whom the Place Graslin is named . Halle de Pommeraye and shopping street of rue Crebillon leading down to the place Royale, literally out of the arched enclosed courtyard entrance and excellent restaurants within a few minutes walk like la Cigale !

People are really nice and the bedrooms are calm and confortable.

Pillows. So thin and soft that I had neck pain the next day. They should try to have at least to types of pillows. But the staff was nice and gave me a second one so it improved a little bit 😉
