The tranquility, breathtaking views, and warm hospitality were definitely my favorite part of the experience. A beautiful and refreshing getaway.

The only disappointment was that the accommodation we received was different from what was advertised on Booking.com. The wooden cabins were shown on the app, but we were placed in a different house that wasn’t displayed online.

The usual Booking.com booking process worked well. The Lodge was in contact with me, answering questions. It was, by my own choice, close to the venue I was next visiting.

1. I was NOT informed that tap water was not potable - a situation rather unusual in South Africa, except for some very rural places. Fortunately, I had a 5 litre container of water - by pure chance, though. 2. The towels in my bathroom seem to have been "rinsed" and dried, not washed at very high temperature. They stank after having become wet. 3. We arrived after 18.00 which, at this time in SA, is "after dark". The signposting at the premises left much to be desired - maybe it works during the day, but not in the dark. 4. Nyala Lodge, where my unit (No 6) was, had very poor cellphone reception for MTN. This would not have been a major problem if we have been given the WiFi password - the signal was quite strong there but, with no password either given to us by reception or written down on the numerous information sheets on the walls of the unit, we did not even have a chance of... contacting the Reception for the password. 5. Overall, the place looked nice but a bit run down.
