Lovely hotel, lovely staff and nice rooms.

Food was mediocre, a bit cold and service a bit slow. There was work carried out from really early on bank holiday Monday morning which was such a disappointment. Really noisy work which lasted for hours. No prior warning from the hotel and no bank holiday lie on.

We had a great sleep in comfortable bed with a bit disappointed with lack of room facilities.

The foyer is lovely. Fast and friendly check in. Room was lovely and bed very comfortable. Staff around the hotel were very nice. The grounds looked lovely and ample parking.

Our room was very warm! The bathroom was a lot older and shabbier than the rest of our room. Breakfast had a good hot food selection but little else.

The arrival is good lovely reception and bar

I did not like there is no lift to accommodate. Our room was too small and the toilet was tilted sideways the paint on window frame is chipping off. Supplied with a fan and it barely worked room is so small that it got very warm very quickly. Breakfast eggs were not runny they gave hard eggs. Overall experience wasn’t great

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, great base from which to explore from.

Check-in went very swiftly, the room was clean, tidy and a decent size. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection of hot and cold food. Pleasant and comfortable surroundings in the restaurant bar area.

There is no air-conditioning in the room, having just experienced a heatwave the night time was unbearable.

The staff are very lovely and very pleasant and welcoming the whole hotel is beautifully decorated and the rooms are beautiful too lovely bed has everything you need in it and also the breakfast was delicious and staff very efficient too would highly recommend to anyone have stayed on numerous occasions and is 1 of the best hotels I have stayed at

As I said in the first box. I’ve stayed in this hotel many times over the years and the standard has never ever dropped.

The Ardboyne is without a doubt a staple feature of Navan and it does Navan proud. This hotel never ever lets its standard drop. The rooms are great and as always the staff are second to none.

Room smelt of cigarette smoke

Location

My wife and I arrived at approximately 6.15pm and were given the key to room 105 on the ground floor. On entering the room, we noticed a strong smell of cigarette smoke it the room. We were running late for my Uncle's funeral that we were attending in the Columbian Missionaries about 5kms over the road. We decided to open the windows and hoped the smell of cigarette smoke would have subsided by the time we returned to the room later in the evening. Upon returning to the hotel room later in that evening, the smell of cigarette smoke was still strong so at that point I called reception to come down to the room. The gentleman on duty came along swiftly and on entering he agreed that there was a strong smell off cigarette smoke still in the room. When we requested to be switched to an alternative room, he advised the hotel was fully booked and there were no other rooms available. We were then left with no choice but to stay in the room. When we went to bed we discovered that the cigarette smoke was not just prevalent in the air but also the bed sheets smelt of smoke. This prevented both of us from sleeping and made for a very poor and uncomfortable night's stay. When we checked out in the morning, we advised the lady on reception of the ordeal. I asked her to walk down to room 105 to see for herself that the cigarette smoke smell was still in the room. She refused to this but advised she would have housekeeping check it out. We advised her we were unhappy to have paid €135 for a room which was unfit for purpose and should not have been sold in that state. She gave us the number of Central Reservations to call to sort it out. On our journey home, my wife called the number who said they would look into and would call us back. We never received a callback so my wife called again. This time they said they checked it out and that there was no evidence of smoke it the room. This statement is totally untrue. Steer clear.
