Placing a sign on every room door and asking guests to remove their shoes before entering the room.
It would be preferable to actually place a shoe cleaning mat at the room entry. I am sure a $5 item (Ikea) or $7 (Bunnings) would be very helpful to your guests. It's winter, it's wet and soggy. Get some floor mats!

It was a quick stopover but I did find dirty linen in the bathroom and rubbish in the bathroom that wasn’t ours. Reception had a strong smell of cigarette. Easy check in and check out
