This hotel is a true gem. Every detail is carefully considered, and the décor throughout the property is simply remarkable. The staff is incredibly helpful, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The central location makes it easy to explore, yet the hotel remains wonderfully calm. Highlights include the beautiful piano and cozy fireplaces, which add a unique charm and warmth to the atmosphere.

Location ,welcome, and staff were excellent, lovely Xmas stocking left at our bedroom door when we returned from Church was a lovely touch .
A more affordable wine list would have been good.

The hotel is luxurious and it’s shown in the small touches - genuinely warm and friendly staff, welcome hot alcohol, beautifully decorated lobbies with log fires for guests to hang around to drink, chat or play games, choc bar to make choc drinks etc. The rooms, as expected, are thoughtfully put together and well maintained. It is also closed to a few eateries, providing alternative dining options.
The shower pressure is pretty weak. As that also happened in my son’s room, I assumed it is not just my room’s issue.
While I do love the hotel, the room rate is expensive. If there’s a free breakfast offered, I think that would be very nice.

Beautiful hotel right at the bottom of Loch Ness - really peaceful and the food is excellent. Bonus points for the welcome drink and cocktails by the fire whilst playing scrabble.
The rooms are fine but the bathrooms could do with an update as they’re a little tired but clean. Also our room, 18, was below an area where some kind of fan or washing machine was on for most of the stay except at night. Not the loudest but wasn’t the most peaceful and started back up at 7/8 in the morning.

Everything was excellent. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful or pleasant. Hotel was fabulous.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

We were in the loft rooms in the hotel, Rooms were excellent, clean, nice bed. Breakfast was good with a good choice of cold and hot food.
We never eat in the hotel for dinner as the menu choice wasn't for us, we preferred food in the town where there are a few places to eat.
The lounges in the hotel were great to sit and chat/drink, just like your own living room, brilliant and comfortable.
Choice in the hotel for food was £35 pp for 3 course set menu or £135 for 9 course set menu. :-( Food looked good but some simpler food choice would be a great addition.
bigger choice of menu in the hotel would have been nice, simpler additions to the menu would help along with it being slightly cheaper cost.

After a mishap with booking, manager relocated us to a suitable room. That room was extremely well suited to our needs. The bed and linens were great.
Restaurant was closed on several nights so we had to drive out for evening meals.
It was much more expensive than comparable hotels at home.

Lovely place on all fronts except the rooms in the roof are way too hot.
The room was far too hot. It was summer and it was hot at the time - but for £202.15/night you should be able to cool your room. It didn't drop below 25C in the room for the entire stay. No AC and a fan that doesn't help.

Location was excellent.
The bed was very comfortable.
Staff were very friendly.
Breakfast was delicious.
No sourdough for breakfast as they had run out.

THe Lovat was perfect, we were greeted with 'cold' toddies as it was pretty warm out. The staff was friendly, the rooms were perfect, everything we thought out and breakfast was the best we had on our journey. Hope to go back some day and spent more time.
Midges and that was no fault of The Lovat. We tried to take advantage of the grounds but were getting eaten alive. Take midge repellent if going in the summer!

Location with the views. The complimentary Scottish tradition of cookies was an unexpected and surprising gift. The toiletries were good.
Not you fault but travel to and from Skye was long.

Breakfast was very good.
The room (18) was terribly noisy because there is a generetor nearby on from 7:15 AM till late in the evening. The hotel was not full, how is possible to assign a noisy room when you have others available?

We stayed in one of the garden rooms apart from the main hotel which gave us an outdoor table and chairs which we enjoyed for a takeaway lunch and relaxing with tea as well as space to load and unload bicycles. Garden rooms are not large, but very well appointed and comfortable. Staff are friendly and attentive and food is delicious. For cyclists, there is a secure (shelter locks plus racks to lock bikes to) purpose built shelter with charging points for e-bikes.
We enjoyed the high touch, intentional experience but some may think it fussy.

Gem in very small and cozy Fort Augustus. Facilities and the building itself create warm atmosphere and bring you a feeling of Scot’s coorie. Unexpectedly, the restaurant of the place turned to be haute cuisine experience with great cooking skills of chef, taste of local products and great wine pairing. Loved it! Loved Lov-at:)

I received an email from Mia late morning confirming our stay and arrival time. She also made us dinner reservations. Once we arrived we were greeted with hot toddies in the sitting room. Mia brought us up to our beautiful room a bit later where we had a great view of
Loch Ness. We later had an absolutely amazing dinner with exceptional service. I can't say enough about The Lovat and highly recommend you book your stay here!

The location was perfect to walk around and to get to our Loch Ness cruise. The breakfast was wonderful! Nothing was missing. The staff were kind and welcoming. The room had everything you needed from a fan, umbrella, and a yoga mat! Perfect
My only suggestion would be some sort of blackout covering for the windows. I had a sleep mask and that doesn’t bother me at all but some people need it completely dark to sleep. Just a suggestion, my sleep was perfect!

Cosy hotel to enjoy the taste of the scottish cottages. Rooms are fully equiped and comfortable. Very clean and quiet, and staff is adorable. Reading room with the fire place to enjoy a glass of whiskey. Breakfast was delicious.
I would have appreciated to have the chance to dine ‘a la carte’ in the restaurant.

We were in the rooms away from the main house but they were fine if a little snugger than expected. The truly amazing thing was the food - omg you have to eat here! I could not believe how incredible the meal was - we have had the good fortune to eat in several top restaurants around the world and this was easily on a par with the best of them! Everyone needs to go try this food even if you don’t stay in the hotel.
Nothing stands out- it’s well located, plenty of parking and rooms were fine. Bathrooms were actually really good - bedroom area was small and perhaps could do with a makeover. Nothing wrong, just a bit bland

Nice, spacious comfortable room. General ambiance of hotel and public rooms. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast with an innovative menu.
Sad to have missed the restaurant dinner experience as it is only open 5 of 7 days

Loved the location and the serenity
With the price we paid, could've got a complimentary breakfast at a similar property

It was a lovely experience staying the night here, in this beautiful historic building. We had a really special meal at the restaurant, a 9-course tasting menu!

The atmosphere was absolutely incredible from the second you walked in the door. You will wake up to breathtaking views all around.
We did have to switch rooms upon arrival due to a glitch in the booking.com website. The room we were switched to was a slight downgrade and due to the glitch they couldn't refund us the difference. Despite all of this we absolutely loved our stay and would go back in a heartbeat.

Modern creature comforts and amenities and traditional charm. The cooking at the restaurant was near-Michelin star quality.
Breakfast is 23 GBP/person extra which was not evident at the time of booking (but it was very good).

Very clean and staff friendly
Waaaaay too expensive and food drinks etc too expensive too. £23 for breakfast pp is ridiculous on top of the price already paid. Cocktails £14 and dinner £70pp. Too expensive in my opinion

This property is in a great location and the room was exceptionally clean
The restaurant looked absolutely fantastic, however they only seemed to offer a tasting menu for £105

Great location, beautiful hotel, restaurant was a not-to-miss experience. After walking for 8 days, was a welcome splurge, complete with fast and convenient laundry services.
Was a little hot at night without air conditioning.

Hotel is good. Good location.
Their child policy isn't as per booking.com standards. All other hotels will allow kids as per their child policy. The manager (Lady) on duty REFUCED us entry since we had not mentioned children in the booking. All other hotels have allowed us. We were forced into booking an extra room, which we didn't use.
Very unsatisfactory customer experience.
Kindly please update the child policy to avoid unsatisfactory customer experiences.

Fantastic hotel [more like a b&b] with terrific staff. We arrived after a full 24 hours of traveling from the States then driving from Inverness and were exhausted and they let us check in early which was heavenly[Thanks Lou]. The room was bright, clean and comfy and the breakfasts were perfect with wonderful pastries and delicious cooked food too. Highly, highly recommend.
Nothing. Great place
