Mas Duc

quiet location. nice people

all good although the pool could be doing with a clean. a lot of dead insects in it!

Super friendly Mari who did not speak English, but used her translator App to help her communicated with us often prior to our arrival and checked us in. She unexpectedly brought drinks three times out to the pool. Often she was seen cleaning and was very good about trying to keep bugs out of the pool. She also put out a wonderful breakfast with fresh croissants and spreads, including Nutella. Yum! Lots of vegetarian choices, as requested. The owner, Yan, is wonderful, friendly, social and very welcoming. He has a comfortable place to stay with large, clean rooms, lots of parking and complete silence, especially at night. Mas Duc is a beautiful rural stay.

Perhaps the signage on the road could have been a little better, prior to the turn, to give you a head’s up.

It had a warm rustic charm. The rooms were very big and so was the best. We slept like babies, it was so comfortable. We were made very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation could do with some updating but that is also part of its charm.

You have to drive to the local village to eat, this had plenty of options but had we known we would have eaten earlier and just had a snack in the evening.

Location for proximity to bike trails we were following

There were silence and private signs everywhere. We felt like intruders in the private home of the owner who is very present. There is no communal space as in the photos, no sitting lounge or fireplace to relax by, only your room. We were asked via text message to be quiet at 7:30pm for moving a small table in our room to play cards with our children.
