About this cottage rental
Rosebank Farm (on which Valleydale is situated) was established as a dairy property in 1895. Since then the farm has had dairy, commercial orcharding, beef cattle and tourism as farming activities. Valleydale cottage was completed in 2003 as a tourism venture. The goal was to build a unique place to celebrate special events for couples, to simply take time out from busy lives and to reconnect with nature and partners.
The cottage has been built in a farmhouse style with recycled wood. A verandah wraps around the cottage on all 4 sides giving access to fabulous valley and farmland views. Small children accompanying parents will need to be supervised at all times given the nature of farms - livestock, unfenced dams, creeks and fishponds, electric fences and abundant wildlife.
Your cottage is located in a rural farming community with Federal village store only a short 9 minute drive away. Many local farmers sell organic produce direct from the farm gate.
Minyon Falls is a short 15 minute drive from the cottage - after rain the Falls are spectacular. You can enter either from the Falls bottom (for fit people) or the top for a short stroll.
Rosebank Farm is operated by Loretta Hofer and family. Guests are free to wander over to the main homestead for a chat, feed the horses or have your own private space. The choice is yours.
