New Donghae Tourist Hotel

Everything. I've stayed a couple of times and each time it was great

They were strict about checkin time and the language barrier was a challenge

Good facilities, clean, big screen tv, comfortable bed and generally comfortable room…

The staff was not at all helpful. Could only speak five words in english and did not understand much. We checked in late on a Sunday afternoon after a very tiresome day of travelling and took a quick nap. Even though we asked what time the restaurant opens at (we were very excited to try this restaurant), we were never informed that the restaurant closes early- at 08:30pm. We got there at 08:15 and they could no longer serve us… The receptionist tried to direct us to restaurants that were open and we walked for about 10min in the general direction he pointed to (and 10min back) just to find out everything in the area was closed and then we got told upon our return “oh, maybe… Sunday. Close early” But he couldn’t have told us that before? I feel like as a hotel receptionist you should know if ALL the restaurants in your area are likely closed by a certain time at night before sending your guests out searching… The little coffee shop/convenience store by the hotel had no food (except ramen noodles) and snacks. The hotel itself is actually great- the specific unhelpful receptionist just made the experience leave a bitter aftertaste. Would’ve been helpful to know…
