Ray of Maya near to taj mahal

Honestly, if you dont stay here, it's your loss! So close to the Taj West Gate. Excellent service & location. Quiet & very comfortable. Great food & service at a very reasonable price at Maya Hotel, the sister hotel over the road. Raj runs a tidy ship. He is the consumate host. He socialises with his guests & listens carefully to their comments. He tries his utmost to provide a quality product. You can even pay by card at Maya (over the road). And, thanks so much Raj, we really appreciated the lovely upgrade.

Hotel is in a great / quiet location with the Taj Mahal being a short drive away. The room was spacious with a good hot shower, excellent WIFI, good air conditioning and conformable beds. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome by Baba and enjoyed our welcome drink. He ensured we had a memorable stay. His local knowledge was exceptional and he was always willing to share. On ward travel and a tour were also booked through the hotel. Breakfast was had across the road in the air conditioned Maya Hotel & Restaurant where the food was fantastic, always fresh and tasty. In fact we had all our meals there. Waiting staff there were great, spoke English and made us feel very welcome. We met up with Ray, the owner of both establishments and he went out of his way to ensure we had an excellent stay. We had many a chat with Ray which were very much enjoyed.

Onward travel organised by Baba through the hotel had some issues. The driver was friendly and courteous and the vehicle was excellent. We enjoyed our sightseeing stops and lunch on the way, but things went wrong after our second sightseeing stop as the driver was very concerned about fuel. We made so many detours, up and down the main road, in and out of side streets, we probably stopped at 8 stations to check for fuel and slowed down while passing many others. Finally found a station with fuel (GAS) and we waited in a queue for some time. As a consequence of this, we did not arrive at our hotel till after 9pm. (around 4.5hours late) Honesty, the driver should have prepared his vehicle including fuel for the arranged journey. What made things significantly worse is that the driver tried to charge an extra commission for the lateness of arrival. This raised concern and Baba was contacted as he had arranged transport. It got to the point where we were going to go to the authorities and this was conveyed to Baba. After that contact nothing else was heard. We would suggest the hotel be more mindful with who they arrange transport with.

The hotel was closed. They change me to another , in my opinion, worse.
