Joey's Hostel Agra - 200m from Taj Mahal

Fantastic location near Taj Mahal. We took a sunrise tour arranged by hostel with a guide to experience the Taj- just a few 100 metres walk away. There is an amazing view of the Taj from the rooftop. Staff there made an effort to encourage everyone to feel welcome and there were activities if people wanted to join in - like karaoke. We got a double room with bathroom for £9 per night which was miles cheaper than anywhere else we stayed. Breakfast was fine and plentiful

It is a hostel - which I haven't stayed in in years and too basic for me but my daughter liked the vibe.

I had a really great stay at this hostel in Agra. The location is honestly one of the best — just a 5-minute walk from the Taj Mahal, and the rooftop terrace has an amazing view of the Taj. You really can’t ask for a better location! I stayed in a private room, which was super spacious and comfortable. The bed was great, and everything was very nice for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was also excellent and definitely one of the highlights. All of the staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and always willing to help. They went out of their way to assist me without expecting anything in return, which I really appreciated. They also have nice common areas where you can meet other travelers, and the food at the hostel was really good. The only negative point for me was the strict no-visitor policy. Even though I had a private room, I was not allowed to have a friend visit me for a short time. My friend was a coworker who was visiting Agra from Kerala, and we only wanted to have a conversation and spend some time together as friends — he was not staying overnight. Unfortunately, I had to leave the hostel and meet him elsewhere for a coffee. I found this policy quite restrictive, especially for guests staying in private rooms. That said, the staff were very helpful with my check-out and even helped me arrange transportation to Jaipur, which I really appreciated. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hostel, especially for its unbeatable location, beautiful Taj Mahal views, spacious private rooms, great breakfast, and genuinely helpful staff.

Its close to the Taj, they have a nice cafe at the rooftop with amazing view of the Taj.

The view on the taj from the hostel cafe which is a couple buildings further is stunning! That being said, its an openly accessible cafe that anyone can visit so no need to sleep there. There are also no consume-free spots on the roof terrace.

Its a mass hostel that has kept trying. There are three buildings and maybe my review doens't apply to all. I stayed in a private double room which was almost empty with white fluorescent lights that definitely didn't add to the cozyness. The mattress was thin, worn out and in total not comfortable. The room is damp and the only window goes to the floor which has white light on during the night. The walls are full of scribbles which has its charms for maybe two walls but not as a general decoration and added to the shabbyness. There are piles of trash lying around, but the worst was the omnipresent smell of open sewage, since two open canals run on the street below. Really overpriced and overrated and a hostel which apparently is going to well to rethink their hospitality.
