Grand Apartments Tulipan

Perfectly located, close to restaurants and the beach.

The reception was situated in another building a few blocks away from the apartment hotel. The doormen at the actual apt hotel spoke only polish and did not understand English very well. Nevertheless they were lovely and friendly ☺️ There was no toilet paper nor paper towels in the apartment! Also the sofa bed was uncomfortable and squeeky.

The apartment was wonderful, its in beautiful old building, but the apartment inside is modern, fresh and super clean, good sized shower and it has everything you need. It has a fist for easy access to the second floor. The balcony gets the sun from about 11:30am until around 4:30pm, this was in late July. Lots of great places to eat with many shops and good quality restaurants close by. Skwer Kuracyjny is about a three minute walk with the beach being a similar distance. The apartments in a quiet up market residential street and is very quiet. It makes for a nice change after being in a very busy Sopot of an evening. I did not watch TV, but it has about 15 channels, all in Polish, well it is Poland after all :) While I had issues with getting the key, once inside the apartment, its really nice. I did not use the kitchen, but it seemed well equipped and clean. The towels in the shower room were of good quality and clean. Bed linen were all excellent quality, better than some 4 star hotels I have stayed in. Sopot gets very hot in July, much hotter then I thought it would be, so if possible, take a travel fan as I do as the apartment has no air conditioning. Having the concierge down stairs adds a degree of security, I felt completely safe in the apartment and in Sopot itself, the town is beautiful as was the apartment. Just the issue with the keys annoyed me at the beginning, take note!

I booked this apartment as the description says 24 hour reception and I could pick up the keys at reception. On the day of arrival, there was no key in reception for me to pick up. The man on reception is a concierge for the flats and not employed by Grand Apartments, the man could not speak English so communication was almost impossible, but the poor chap tried his best. I ended up having to phone Grand Apartments office, they informed me I had been sent an e-mail the previous day advising me I would have to go to their office in Sopot to pick up the keys. I NEVER received any e-mail nor any other form of communication from Grand Apartments about this sudden change. I had to get a taxi to their office, do the paperwork and sign forms before getting back in the taxi and heading to the apartments, this cost me over one hour of my time. I have to say, the staff in the office were very nice, but I am furious at being misinformed and lied to. PLEASE BE ADVISED: if you don`t have Google Maps on your phone to find their office, you are stuffed, its at least a 30 minute walk there and back. Finally, the apartment has no dish cloths for drying cups or glasses :(

The apartment did not have the basics in the kitchen especially coffee and tea essentials... Also, keys had to be picked up and dropped off back to the check in location which is really far from the apartment...Very inconvenient! At least a 15-20min walk:(
