About this farm stay rental

This home was built in 1927 by my Great Grandparents. Its old fashion charm and beautiful views of the pond and vineyards make this home ready for you to relax. Picnic under the shade of the walnut trees and watch the wildlife in the pond.

Make sure you have the key if you go out the backdoor. It locks automatically. Luckily we had a cell phone.

I can absolutely tell this family is awesome, but I’m giving an honest review. I paid for the home in this review. Without asking they switched me to another house. If you rent this house, you might not get it. I stayed in a hotel. I would suggest you do the same, or just rent the other house they own with the teal carpet. That’s where they moved me. This kind of stuff is why VRBO and the like are going bankrupt. I did not get what I paid for. It was a bait and switch.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Charming house had everything we needed, including a high chair and pack and play for the baby. It’s on a private winery so it felt very safe and private. The owners were very responsive- the property has been in their family for 4 generations. If we’re ever back in the area we will stay again!

This house was almost exactly what was posted. It was a beautiful, well kept house, very classic in many ways. The vineyard was beautiful and the hosts were very nice and accommodating.

Came up with my 9yo daughter, 10yo son and wife. We enjoyed everything about this property. We loved the old house and it’s decorated perfectly. AC worked great and was needed in the middle of the day. Fish fish and more fish. My son spent almost every minute while we were at the property fishing and caught and released over 20 large mouth bass. My daughter caught the two biggest of the week at almost 5lbs each. We also drive to Ft Bragg which is a little over an hour away. The wine was great and we will be back as soon as we can.

Loved our stay. Peaceful and beautiful. Older home with limited electrical outlets and slow internet but even that was part of the charm. Modern plumbing and so comfortable. Testa House is a comforting ‘back in time’ experience, authentically decorated and updated. So comfy and a perfect place to spend a few days during a daughter’s wedding and family reunion. Everything was great except two crucial things: 1) it was triple digit temperatures, and the A.C. didn't work at certain times, and 2) it was advertised on two websites as having two bathrooms and accommodating up to eight people, but we had eight people with only ONE bathroom and it was a real problem. I would not stay there again in the hot summer or with a big crowd and would not have chosen this place had I known there was only one bath and unreliable AC.

The Testa cottage is very cute and comfy and Maria is very friendly and helpful. I booked it for a group of friends to stay there for my daughter's wedding at Yokayo Ranch. The only thing that I do have an issue with is the fact that the 2nd bathroom is a bit of a walk across from the cottage behind the tasting room and I wish that had been described properly in the write up. Eventhough my friends did not complain about this, I feel it was a bit uncomfortable for them. Perhaps Maria should move the laundry facility to behind the tasting room and have that 2nd bathroom right inside Testa cottage. Other than that, the property is very nice.

A very beautiful and charming place. Would definitely stay there again and recommend others to do so. Maria was very easy to communicate with from the start. She answered my emails very promptly and as soon as we arrived she warmly welcomed us. All the rooms were lovely and there was no complaints from any one of my 7 family members including myself. We enjoyed the complimentary wine bottles and was even thrilled that there was wine tasting on the site! We purchased several bottles and was given a hefty discount for being guests! The property offered an amazing view, it was such a nice and relaxing change from the big city. We wished we could've stayed longer than just the weekend. If you're looking for a getaway I highly recommend this place! Thank you Maria for making our stay memorable.

The Testa Farmhouse is such a comfortable and charming getaway! We had two families (including many small children) stay here and felt right at home. The children could explore the grounds freely and loved it! The roosters were endless fun. The home is well furnished and so charming. We enjoyed day trips to see redwood forests, the ocean, and San Francisco. Pure fun! Maria is a wonderful host. We were so appreciative of her understanding in our scheduling hiccups. I'd recommend her farmhouse to anyone!

We came down to the Ukiah area for my grandmother's burial service, and we were reluctant to stay at the local motels based on the reviews I'd read online. So, we looked for a house where at least three groups in the family could stay: my parents, my family of 4, and my aunt and her close childhood friend. After we arrived in town, we realized how blessed we were to stay at Testa House. This is probably the nicest lodging in all of the Ukiah area! The house, even though quite old, had been marvelously renovated and decorated. It was spotlessly clean! We walked in after many hours of driving, and it was a heavenly haven. We were able to peek out the windows (and walk outside a bit) to see the owner and some workers harvesting the wine grapes. Wish we'd had more time to take an official tour of the winery, but we needed to leave for the graveside service. This is a gorgeous house, and you will feel instantly at ease and at home...or maybe even better than at home!

My wife and another couple stayed at the Testa house a few weeks back. Really great house! The owners gave us a private tour and barrel sampling of their wine (which was very yummy!) The house has lot of character, but in a good way. It's very comfortable and REALLY CLEAN. Our dog loved running through the vineyards too. If you're up in Redwood Valley, I highly recommend this place.

Our stay at this lovely house was wonderful. We were there with our parents and Alton's sister who were visiting from Georgia and Tennessee. It was so relaxing. The bed on the porch was a great place to enjoy early morning coffee and conversation while snuggled under those beautiful quilts. Maria has beautifully furnished the home and stocked it with everything needed for a home away from home. Maria gave us a great tour of the property including the wine cellar complete with tasting. She and her husband were gracious host meeting all our needs and answering all our questions. It was evident that maintaining Maria's ancestral home is a true labor of love for them. We will always remember our time there spent with precious family.

We had a wonderful time at the house celebrating a friend's birthday this last weekend! The house is very cute and comfortable and a great place to stay with a small group of friends. There are wineries nearby and it is a short, windy, and beautiful drive to Anderson Valley. We enjoyed hanging out on the porch looking out at the vineyards, building a fire outside and cooking in the well-stocked kitchen. The house is clean, even more adorable in person than in the photos and Maria is an fantastic host--making us feel welcome and at home!

I recently celebrated my 40th birthday here at Testa House with three of my girlfriends. We had the time of our lives! First of all, the farmhouse is absolutely precious. From the black and white tiled floor in the kitchen to the bed on the sleeping porch, everything is just charming. Maria is a doll and provides so many little extras in the house: fresh flowers, fresh fruit, blankets for snuggling on the couch, coffee in the kitchen, games in the living room, bath salts for the clawfoot tub, etc. The master bed is HUGE and oh so comfy. All the beds in house are, in fact, very comfy. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans; there was even a salad spinner and a juicer! The grounds are just as delightful. There are two roosters, four ADORABLE baby pigs and a cow who is not a fan of people, but who was starting to get used to us by the end of our stay. Maria's garden is amazing! We picked a couple squash and sautéed them in olive oil - so yummy! There is a large pond with a row boat. My girlfriends and I used the row boat and went out on the pond right before we left. It was lovely and peaceful out there, the perfect end to our stay. Maria is an amazing hostess and she always nearby or just a phone call away if you need something. I accidentally locked myself out of the house once and she just happened to be gardening then, and whipped out another set of keys for me in no time flat. My girls and I went to Orr Hot Springs (so relaxing!) and had sushi dinner at Oco (yummy!) in downtown Ukiah. None of my crew are drinkers, but if you are into wine tasting, you will be in heaven. I simply cannot recommend Testa House enough. I cannot wait to come back. MJ

A wonderful old farmhouse in a vineyard overlooking vines and a pond (with small boat). Convenient to Hwy. 101, but not too close. We stayed here for a couple of weeks while our girls were in school. The hosts could not have been more cordial or helpful. Fresh flowers from Maria's garden decorated the house. Checkout the park in Ukiah (good pool). Good Japanese restaurant a couple of blocks south of the Courthouse. The SUn House is worth a visit.
