Village des Oursons Chalet B - Happy Rentals

The location is a quiet village away from the main road, and backs onto some natural forest area for great trail access.

It is an upstairs room in a group of 4. So there are neighbours below and next too. And the parking is not located immediately attached to the room so some walking in weather to get to car. (Only a problem if raining)

Un grlll pain serait souhaitable

Location is great; close enough to Chamonix for the attractions but far enough away to be quiet. Some days we thought we were the only people in the valley, and the nights were absolutely quiet. Public transport buses are only a few meters away so even without a car it's no great problem. The Chalet itself was great, facilities clean and complete, in places somewhat compact (toilet is close to airline size!) but for a short stay of a few days to a week it's no detraction. Choice of bedrooms (there are three, one upstairs and two downstairs) is good, the main bed managed my 190cm husband with no real issues. And the view from the balcony kept us hanging out there when we weren't on the mountains. It does cost a few dollars but, with self catering and the whole package of views/chalet, it saved us money. We were planing a return trip even as we stepped off the flight home.

Access to the Happy Rentals office is a touch tricky, so picking up the keys was an exercise in narrow French streets, heavy foot traffic and instant GPS changes; just like the rest of France! The bins are not on premises, but just near the junction on the main road. Our mobile phone doesn't have QR code capability, so we couldn't read the map, and had to ask a local. A small issue perhaps, and we weren't used to the look of the French bins at the time.
