Friendly owners live right next to the building in a little hut behind a hedge. They have a cute little dog who came visit us every day- very sweet dog. Great pool, big new tv but only croatian tv stations and netflix. Interior of the appartement is good. It is not the whole house but the 1. floor only. It is NOT 1 km to the beach but a lot further. You would have to take the car. What made the vacation miserable was the beginning when the owner wanted extra money for the dog (although i booked it with dog). at the check-in. He wanted an extra 20 euros per day because the dog is big. Well- the dog is not small (36 kg) but it is just a dog. After 7 hours of driving i was just not in the mood to discuss it till the end so we gave him about 10 euros per day extra. I didn’t get a receipt for that. Then extra cost for tourist tax, so in the end it cost me a lot of euros for two weeks. Way to expensive, would not book it again. Umag itself is a nice little town, the beaches are ok, the water is clean, food is good
