About this house rental
This large, spacious and comfortable home with its roaring fire and reverse cycle air-cooling, has a fully equipped kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and open plan living, making it an ideal property for couples and families alike.
40 Acre Retreat offers the perfect location as either a central base for enjoying the wine and food tasting experiences of the Barossa or to relax and catch up with friends and family in privacy, surrounded by the grape vines, birds chirping, while watching the sheep meander in the paddocks.
Enjoy the peace and tranquility of country living amongst the vines and the gums while being conveniently located 5 minutes or less from the Barossa Valley’s top wine and food attractions; Tanunda, Seppeltsfield, Maggie Beers, Hentley Farm, Whistler Wines, Torbreck, Appellation’s Restaurant and only a short walk to Two Hands cellar door.
Please note we can not hold any type of functions ie. weddings, engagement parties etc at the 40 Acre Retreat, it is a guest house only.
The 40 Acre Retreat is holiday accommodation, we do not supply breakfast. The closest supermarket is 7 minutes drive, which is open 7am -8pm and there are many great eateries in the Barossa, ask us for more info of where to go.
This is also a working sheep farm, we love that you want to bring your dog on holiday and try to accommodate that, the yard is sheep proof not dog proof, if you feel your furry friend might be a little too interested in the sheep then our property might not work for you.

Bright. Open. Clean and very welcoming. The photos do not do this place justice. Amazing views, nice grass area for the dog to play while we sat on the veranda with a nice bottle of wine we purchased from a winery minutes away. Overall an outstanding place and only 45 minutes from Adelaide. Thank you so much,

A stunning property! Beautiful grounds to go for walks on. Stylish, clean and spacious house. Close to restaurants, cafe's and winires. Great for a weekend escape! Would definitely stay again.

40 Acre Retreat is a wonderful place to stay. Communicating with the host was great as Renee is very prompt with her responses. The property is clean and tidy, spacious and pet friendly.The views surrounding 40 Acre Retreat is spectacular.

Great location, beautiful outlook. Plenty of wood to keep us nice and toasty, plenty of wood provided to ensure we never got cold. However slightly disappointed in the maintenance of the house. Bedrooms smelt like damp and mouldy. Second bathroom shower had major water issue, getting water everywhere, all over the floor, cupboards, no extra towels provide to replace saturated floor mats. Unable to mop up water on the floor after a shower, thus slipping over. Broken potta cot and non working torch. Disappointed with the stay, especially with the expense of the house.
