La Casa di Nonna Ida

La casa è semplicemente fantastica, l’ingresso in un bellissimo spazio curato immerso nel verde. Personale di accoglienza, di servizio e proprietari gentilissimi. Avevamo una stanza con cucina e bagno esterni. Un’oasi di pace in un posto molto comodo a pochi minuti a piedi da Ficogrande e al centro tra porto e piscita’

La vue extraordinaire aussi bien sûr le Stromboli que sur le Stromboliccio et un peu de mer, le jardin avec tous ces palmiers, orangers, citronniers, la terrasse magnifique, la décoration typique de la maison et ces ravissantes faïences ! La configuration de la maison idéale pour une famille avec 4 jeunes enfants !

L’eau de la douche n’est pas très chaude. Nous avons eu froid la première nuit, mais des couettes supplémentaires nous ont été apportées pour les nuits suivantes

Amazing place! The whole villa feels magical, the furniture makes you feel like you’re in a different time. The view from the terrace is breathtaking. Location is great and the host is very attentive. The kitchen is basically an outside space, which might be a no for some people but we loved it. All in all this place made our stay on this extraordinary island even better.

We were there in the beginning of April and there is no heating so it gets very cold in the night. During the day it’s great and I can imagine in the summer there js nothing you want more than a cold room, but this time of year it was a bit uncomfortable.

We stayed in the two bedroom apartment which is actually below the ground floor apartment. The apartments are all quite different so check carefully which is best, depending on time of year. We had a terrace without the lovely sea view, but since we were there in July it was probably better to have the shady terrace with no view that came with our apartment. It was a pleasant place to spend time in the heat of the day; we also were there at night but there was only central lighting so we were reading by the torches of our phones. Better lighting options would have been appreciated (also in the second bedroom which had one main light between the beds - no reading lights). The two bedrooms were completely separate, both were cooled only by a fairly basic fan so it was quite hot at night. There were very few plug sockets so in the bedroom that had two bedside lights, one had to be unplugged to plug in the fan. Charging phones was a bit challenging too. The smaller bedroom had torn mosquito netting on the window, which wasn’t great given that it was so hot in the rooms that we were sleeping with doors and windows open. The bathroom was small and quite basic, with the shower right over the toilet. There was no internet, which was as advertised, so no complaints, but something to be aware of. The property has some advantages - the decoration is nice and location is great, just above the best beach on the island and not far from some good restaurants. Overall though, we were a bit surprised to find the facilities so basic at this price level and felt we had much better value elsewhere in the beautiful Aeolian islands.

Fans weren’t really adequate to cool the rooms. Limited lighting options to read at night. Not enough plug sockets. Torn mosquito netting on one window. Lack of internet could be highlighted in property description. Also the description could be a bit clearer on what to expect in each apartment, the ground floor apartment has the beautiful sea view terrace but little shade, whereas our two bedroom apartment was below the ground floor apartment and had no view but plenty of shade. One more thing to be aware of is that we had to walk across the terrace of the ground floor apartment to access our apartment, so privacy could be an issue.
