Great pods, facilities could do with updating

The pod was very comfortable with proper beds, heater, lights, black out blinds. Really nice pod. The bar and restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Good play park. Large field for children to run around and we had a fire with a great view. The arcade was standard and the kids liked it.

The loo block is like an old rundown public swimming pool/ concrete bunker. It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting- it was clean. We didn’t try the showers because it was too cold to have a shower in there. But the showers in the swimming pool didn’t work, not enough pressure to spray enough to stand under. The indoor pool was smaller than expected and quite shallow, although I didn’t mind having to book in- it was easier to know and plan the day around it.

Fantastic value for money and location .

Very cute and compact. Great location easy walk to beach and some pubs etc. Site was very clean with lots of facilities. Pool, bar etc.

Not that I didn’t like it as happy to have shared shower block etc but the facility’s were not practical. No where to put clothes while showering so everything gets wet.

For the price of £30 a night you can’t go wrong I will be back next October

Pod was clean and end of season deal the pod cost £30 a night and that is for one person or a family of two as there is a queen bed and bunk bed. I liked the location of where the pods for closeness to Dawlish warren train station and a few bars food outlets and the beach and I would love to stay again I will plan for next year.

Pods have no toilet but it’s a two minute walk to get to the communal toilet and shower area. Reception the swimming pool area and the bar was 15 min walk way from from my pod and the beach train station was 15 minute walk away in the opposite direction so I never used the facilities the site had to offer as I went off exploring everyday . I paid about £18 for a week WiFi and it was pretty poor to be honest it kept on jumping in and out, I used it to download movies on Netflix and that way nothing cut out but you can’t want a movie or YouTube without getting frustrated with its signal without downloading.

Great experience, lovely location

A better version of camping, in a pod. Lovely site and so close to Dawlish Warren, which is beautiful. Great that it was dog friendly too.

Communal shower block could do with an upgrade. It was clean and looked after, however would benefit putting up some spaces, or shelves to put your items, (key, glasses etc) whilst you are having a shower. In the pod, a few nice touches, a small kettle and cups would be good. Lighting by the pods could be improved at night, in places it was pitch black walking to the communal WCs.

Communal toilets/showers still dirty after ‘being cleaned’, other pods had outside tables ours didn’t, beds not comfy, messaged owners twice before our stay worth no response. No info emailed to us, so unaware what pod we were when we arrived.

A very chilled and relaxed experience.

We absolutely loved staying in a pod. This was our 4th visit to Golden Sands but our first glamping experience and we’ll definitely repeat this! Very clean accommodation, proper beds and the option to just sit and chill, was perfect.

The shared toilet and shower facilities, have seen better days. Not as clean as I would have liked, doors missing, some didn’t lock, not all showers worked. This was the only thing that spoilt the experience.

Was fine for a 2 night stay.

Lovely little pod. Bare in mind there is only a bunk bed a double bed and a table and chairs.

Location of the pod was right at the other end of the camp and and very hilly. Quite a trek with little ones or if you struggle walking. No kids menu in bar restaurant. Food took over 30 mins to arrive,when the bar was empty. Also missing items of food when it finally arrived.

Glamping pods without the glamour!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was new and fresh. The location was great walking distance to the beach etc... The park itself was well kept and clean.

The shower and toilet facilities for the camping pods was really poor. Very few toilet doors locked. No hair dryers or sockets for own hair dryers. The showers were powerful but no shelf or anywhere to change that didnt get wet. No water squeegee to remove the water to the drain for other users, therefore constant wet floors that ran to the toilet area as well. Really poor flush on the toilets meaning you rarely found a flushed one. The glamping pods were too hot and could of done with more than one window to open at night. Some pods had outside picnic benches others did not. More picnic tables on the large grass area would of been good. Check in at 4pm is too late to start your holiday.

Clean and comfortable pods with an annoying hike to the toilets

Very clean and comfortable pod. Good lighting and lots of electrical outlets! I really liked how you could park right beside the pod too!

The biggest let down about staying here was the distance of the toilet block from (some of) the camping pods. I was in pod 21, at the top of the hill and therefore one of the furthest away from the toilets. Maybe wouldn’t be so much of a problem if I wasn’t staying alone with my 11 month old baby; but walking up and down that hill with her in a carrier, was exhausting. Some of the toilets also didn’t have a lock on the door, so I’d have to go in and out of cubicles to find out that had a lock and toilet paper. I also had a small issue with check in; I arrived outside of check-in time (phoned the day before to check this was okay first) but when I got there, the first bar staff I encountered didn’t know how to check me in and said I had to wait for their boss. Okay, this happens, I get that. I went away for a bit and when I came back to check in, I was asked my name and then handed the keys and a map to find the pod. That’s it.. the first person I asked could’ve done that and prevented me walking around trying to settle my tired and hungry 11 month old baby after an almost 4 hour drive. I also found that signage around the park would be very helpful! I got lost several times trying to find the camping pods when coming in and out of the park, all of it looks pretty much the same!

Lovely site, golden sands

We didn't actually end up in here, as no toilet or cooking facilities it is just a empty pod with a bed. But the lovely ladies managed to find us a lovely caravan, I must of mis read the information. But lovely site. Didn't use facilities as only there 2 nights. With our puppy. Mount pleasant pub is great, with stunning sea views

I was arriving late and reception said they would leave my welcome pack behind the bar. When I got there, the man on the bar, who was fabulous, knew exactly who I was.and what I needed. The location of the pods was just bliss with views, peace and space. Pods basic but more than sufficient as I knew what I was getting.

Toilets need updating only one of the 5 showers worked. The pods nearly a half a mile from reception and club, told reception about a dog locked in maintenance room , dog supposed be on leads told reception nothing done even when a dog came In pod. Was told not park on grass ,but was ok for a couple with a tesla park on grass and charge there car
