About this house rental
Desert Air Zen is a contemporary and peaceful retreat where you can relax and unwind. Within short walking distance to all the hot spots in Joshua Tree, farmers market, shops, galleries and restaurants including the famous Joshua Tree Saloon. You will be a ten minute drive to the Joshua Tree National Park entrance.
THE SPACE
Desert Air Zen is a modern, peaceful, restful space with all the comforts of home. This is one of two duplex units separated by two garages so there is plenty of privacy. Newly remodeled with all new appliances, polished concrete floors, modern concrete shower, comfy beds with all cotton sheets and plush carpet. You will be close enough to town to walk, yet it feels private and quiet. All diversity is welcome!

GUEST ACCESS
You have access to the whole house, all to yourself. Garage space is not available to guests but there is off street parking right in front of the building. Self check in gives you flexibility and ease. You will be sent a code to the electronic keypad.

The unit was very spacious, and had all the supplies you expect for a VRBO (towels, body wash, kitchen supplies to cook, etc). It was very comfortable and will keep it in mind for our next trip to JT.

Loved the location as it was near the park entrance and restaurants/shops of Joshua Tree. Be sure to check out Big Dez for a good breakfast and coffee.

There were some cleanliness issues but Elsa and Taylor were very apologetic and concerned and willing to help out in any way, even offering to have someone stop by and do a quick cleaning.
We stayed here for a week and ended up leaving a day early because it got so hot inside. Know there is an evaporative cooler type thing that just doesn't feel like it's doing much. It was high 70s/low 80s when we were there and it got so hot inside. There were ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living room but often times, it was cooler outside because of the breeze.
I wanted to get the zen feels but the lack of cleanliness and random things like the bedroom ceiling fan shaking violently when you pull the cord like it’s not screwed on all the way or cardboard shoved into the wall to latch the bedroom door just made it feel a bit cheap and hard to relax.
I’d suggest getting some good blackout curtains to help block out the heat and some thicker bathroom towels to make the stay a bit more enjoyable.
The location is really awesome and we loved being so close to JTNP. The owners were responsive and kind and we appreciated their willingness to address our concerns. The walkability to restaurants and little shops and the high speed internet were great too! The hammock and fire pit were nice in the evenings when it was cooler. Overall, with some improvement, I might come back again, just not in summer!
