About this campground/ rv resort rental

Perched on the Downtown South side in the quaint village of the peaceful artist community known as Joshua Tree sits "Lucille".
A one of a kind 1964 vintage Rolls Royal Glamper, with everything you'll need for a magical escape. Air conditioning, BBQ, fridge, shower, water and toilet. Less than a mile from the Joshua Tree visitors center and just minutes to the gates of the national park entrance. The perfect cozy hideaway where you can stargaze in privacy. Come enjoy our wonderful bnb, and a quiet glamping getaway with "Lucille"!

"Lucille" is located high on the South side of Joshua Tree and is a very short distance to the National Park gates. Our Glamper is an extremely rare 1964 vintage Rolls Royal that has been lovingly taken care of and updated. She is very cozy & clean and surprisingly roomy. We offer free WIFI to all of our guests. High thread count 100% cotton bedding for extra comfort is provided. Cooking is via BBQ on a stainless steel Uniflame grill with a side burner and there is also a fridge and coffee maker for your convenience. But there are also plenty of delicious restaurants in the area to enjoy. The trailer stays nice and cool with an a/c unit for year round visits, she has an Indoor toilet to use and running water. We have an awesome outdoor tiki-themed shower that is handicap accessible. The grey water from the shower goes into our gardens so we ask that you only use the eco-friendly shampoo and soaps that are provided. Our Glamper is on a shared property but is in its own private secluded area and is also suitable for tent camping under the starry skies; however, campfires are not permitted. So what exactly is Glamping? Glamping is a term for glamorous/luxury camping so it's like roughing it easy. This is a unique experience that you wont get from just anywhere. Others in the area have tried to mimic our ideas and we realize imitation is the biggest form of flattery, do not be fooled "Lucille" is the original. Come join us for a one of a kind visit.

During your stay, You will have access to a large private secluded fenced in compound of Lucille, the intimate outdoor tiki shower, pergola and BBQ area.

The place is generally quiet and mellow and your area/compound is very private and secluded. Please remember that loud music and noisiness is still a no no in the county after 10:00 pm. Sound travels really freely in the desert that is why people enjoy living out here. Please respect the surroundings.

Getting around is easy by car or by foot if you want to visit the downtown area. There are great restaurants and shops to enjoy. The National park gates are just a few minutes drive away as well. (actually it will be only 2 right turns from where our parking is)

Our guest can reach us anytime through the website, we are happy to answer any and all questions that may arise. We do allow guests to check in early and late check-out if it's possible, however there is an additional fee.

We also allow requests for commercial photo shoots and filming at a flat rate of $400.00 a day, added to the nightly rate if you wish to stay we ask that you have insurance and the proper permit as required from the County of San Bernardino. You cannot exceed the guest limit of 4 staying in Lucille and parking is limited to three vehicles on the property there is ample street parking. Additional guests or crew members must leave the property by 8 PM. Please call us prior to booking to discuss all the details for the planned shoot and to avoid any issues that could potentially arise.

Going in I knew the "glamper" was going to be rustic. I love kooky places and this was one kooky place. I loved the color scheme and the bed was very comfortable. Little cramped for two people, but hey we were just married so no problem there. The outdoor shower was q

The description Desiree provides on the listing is mostly accurate which is good news and a bit less good news. The good news is Lucille is adorable and has all the 60's touches still intact with linens to match. Love the Tiki Cat pillows! Indeed, almost all her original features are lovingly preserved. You do have a private compound with a parking space right in front. The location is wonderful. You are blocks away from the Visitors Center as well as one of the entrances to the park. WE hiked for hours every day very easily. You are just down the street from two very popular restaurants: JT Country Kitchen and Joshua Tree Saloon. (The best place we ate was Yucca Kabob in Yucca Valley, Huge portions and TASTY!) I would only consider renting Lucille if you can a) respect what a gem she truly is b) don't need much space c) don't need some of the features I thought were going to be there but were missing. There is a very small lock to lock the wooden fence from the inside, and no way to lock Lucille herself. I only found that out after searching for a long time in the dark for a lockbox we were told had the key that apparently is no longer there. I didn't feel very safe and definitely didn't leave anything of value when we were out. There is no hot water except in the outdoor shower. In fact, there is no other shower. Lucille is, of course, a 60-year-old trailer, so has very thin walls and is drafty. She has some minor cracks which have been repaired with duct tape. Heat is via a space heater. The beds are VERY narrow. My husband and I could not fit on the longer one lying side by side and we are not very big/tall people. Anyone over 5'8" would have a challenge. I would not put 4 people in Lucille! The stove and fridge in the trailer are not functional. You can use the fridge outside though! We ended up having to leave a day early. I made extra effort to leave Lucille as clean as we found her and texted the owner twice to tell her. I never heard from her after I informed her I was leaving early. This is unusual for a VRBO rental in my experience. Here is the type of person I recommend for a Lucille stay: You are adventurous, don't need hot water, are okay with cooking on a grill and using a fridge outdoors, love retro design, and don't mind being in very close quarters with your companion(s).

My wife and I grind, we own our own business, vacations are rare and often ruined by business demands. In Lucille we were transported out of society, back in time, and after a week with Lucille our marriage feels renewed and we’re reengaging in our business with fresh perspectives. Aho

This is such a cute little property/camper. So fun when staying in JT. There is a nice enclosure for lots of privacy and a place to star watch. A cute outdoor shower, outdoor fridge and a grill. It would’ve been nice if there was a microwave but other than that it was lovely. The bed is tight for two people but that just meant more snuggling! Lots of privacy. Very cute and cozy. Good price. Would recommend.

Desiree was a wonderful host, and our Lucille experience was fantastic with the cozy and quaint accommodations and the privacy of the property. Minor notables: the stove in the camper is non-operational, although shown in the picture (we had planned to cook, but used the grill instead); and the picnic bench is very splintery. Thanks for a great visit, Desiree!

The location is a super 'jumping off' point to explore Joshua Tree, and surrounding area. Comfortable for two, accommodations are basic, but enough for relaxation and exploration.
