Hotel Bocaino

This place is a gem. I read many reviews before staying and I have to say, the area and place was quite contrary to what has been reported. Other than one area along the coast, there is literally no trash anywhere. Is a very quiet town with some "rumors" that I suggest people look into, so they are aware. This place literally a ghost town. The hotel is great, easy check in. Excellent ocean front view. Your room has a patio with a table and Adirondack chairs. Great sized pool that is in front of the hotel. They gave us a parking spot right in front of our room. Ample hot water and overall the place was quiet. The cell service was excellent, so no wifi used. I imagine because the town is small, and not overloaded with cell users.

The exact opposite of the reviews... the restaurant average, not great. The food is very average at best. Luigi was the server and he was cool, but everyone else very quiet and not very hospitable. This is a Dominican Republic problem nationwide. One day they will learn that people go out and tour because they want service, not a moping worker. The beds need better pillows, sore necks in the morning. The entry floor to our room is cracked brick - and you need sandals to walk on it or you will cut yourself. You cannot adjust the A/C temp. Very basic layout with no amenities in the room brings out the 1 point overall deduction.

Easy to find and rooms were comfortable. The view was great and adjacent restaurant was great value. Gratis breakfast was a nice surprise.

The restaurant was very popular and the pool is attached to the restaurant so it’s not private at all from the public. Parking was limited.

Really nice small hotel and nice and friendly staff. Unfortunately the neighbourhood is full of awful plastic waste which is pitty because in the all other ways is it a great location and the rubbish can be easily tidied.

Nice and quiet place with sea view, only 5 rooms by the restaurant with pool. Rooms are spacious and clean although with basic equiment only.

Breakfast in nearby restaurant is basic and takes ages to get it (just simple toast and eggs). No one speaks english (which is fine, just be aware of it). Internet works only in the restaurant, not at your room). The place - means Boca de Yuma - is very simple, not good for longer stays (say above 2 nights) and surrounding places are full of plastic garbage (as no one cares).
