About this house rental
A beautiful, historic home in the Algiers Point neighborhood located directly across the Mississippi River from the French Quarter and CBD, both of which are easily accessible via a short walk/bike ride through the neighborhood and a quick ferry ride across the river. Algiers Point is the second oldest neighborhood in New Orleans, and our home is within easy walking distance of several neighborhood restaurants and bars, as well as a local grocery store.
Please note that this is 1/2 of a double, and the other half is used by the owners as their full time residence. Renters should be comfortable with a shotgun layout. We do require a 30-day or longer minimum stay.
A beautiful, comfortable, fully furnished home, newly renovated and painted, featuring the following:
Four large rooms with high ceilings, ceiling fans, and central ac/heat: Living room and dining area, followed by two bedrooms, each with its own closet (a real bonus in these old New Orleans homes)
Spacious kitchen with breakfast table for two, ample cabinets and counters, refrigerator, dishwasher, gas range/oven, newly installed kitchen hood, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker
Full bath with refinished antique clawfoot tub and plenty of storage space
Laundry room with washer and dryer
Large shared backyard with deck, a great place to hang out in the shade
Friendly neighbors and a quiet neighborhood
Roku ready TVs in the living room and master bedroom, WiFi throughout the house
Absolutely no smoking, no large pets, small pets to be considered on a case by case basis

The property is extremely well kept with great amenities such as WiFi and streaming services for great TV watching. Kitchen has everything you need & washer/drier always available just for you. I absolutely love the neighborhood - charming. Local dinner restaurant just a few minutes walk as well as another cozy breakfast spot. Also there is a neighborhood bar with a friendly crowd & great bartenders. The ferry from Algiers to the French Quarter is minimal cost ($2), takes only a few minutes and leaves every 1/2 hour - super convenient. Owners live next door and are very helpful with questions about activities.

We loved staying at this location! This historic house is very clean and the décor is lovely and comfortable. We had everything we needed for an extended stay. We loved sitting on the porch, relaxing, and making friends in the neighborhood. The neighborhood is perfect for taking walks, and the French Quarter and downtown are just a short ferry ride away. We felt close to stores and area activities and had a nice quiet house to come home to. Eric and Kate are friendly and welcoming, and were very willing to help us in whatever we needed. They are excellent hosts. This is a clean and incredible place to stay! We will definitely be coming back.

We loved our stay for one month working remotely. Eric & Kate were friendly, helpful and responsive. They went out of the their way to assist with my work setup and internet was strong enough to host webinars for 500 people without a glitch. Walk/bike path is a few blocks away and the open air ferry a 12 min walk, then 7 minutes ride across to the French Quarter. The shotgun house is just as pictured - charming, clean and worked great. This historic neighborhood is picturesque with friendly neighbors. We hope to come back again!
