Yes, its a real cabin exactly as shown in the photos. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights for the annual horse roundup (stóðréttir). The next day we went for a private horse ride in the surrounding countryside. The cabin is located on a working horse farm and overlooks a pastoral valley. How beautiful! The town of Sauðárkrókur is 10 minutes away and has gas stations, groceries, restaurants etc. Be sure to check out the wonderful Sauðárkróksbakarí, which is the 2nd oldest bakery in Iceland! We had a really nice stay and the horse ride was a highlight of our trip.

The apartment was very cozy; I’m sorry we couldn’t spend more time there. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to try out the hot tub because we arrived late, but I’m sure it would have been wonderful. The scenery—as everywhere in Iceland—was beautiful. It was nice that coffee capsules were provided, and the apartment was well-equipped for a longer stay as well.

We had to leave (because our schedule). It was a little hard to find in the dark.
