It is very loud as you can hear everything next door. It is like the sound of a key turning is amplified and can very clearly hear the conversation of the person me y door. The owner was not friendly at all but his staff member was very nice and helpful. The shower and toilet were gross and was very glad I was there for only one night.

Love how clean and tidy the lodge is. The unit has own kitchen and bathroom. Prime location to cathedral cove but we missed to see the arch due to high tide. Gonna stay there again next time to get a glimpse of cathedral cove!

We were right next to the beach, cafes, shops and gas, as well as the walking path to Cathedral Cove. Complimentary shovels and other beach gear for kids/families provided. We spent our first day enjoying Hot Water Beach and tracked a good amount of sand into the sharehouse on accident, with three kids. I found the broom and swept up our mess, but was greeted by the young American man staying on site, who cleans the rooms. He was extremely kind and reassuring that the floors always get a bit of sand brought in, being next to the beach, and that he thoroughly vacuums each day so no need for me to clean up, but that he appreciated it. He was available to answer our questions and was very kind and good natured with all the guests. The manager was an older man who helped us get change to use the coin-operated laundry the next morning and allowed us to stay parked on site for free after checkout so we could take some extra time exploring. The shared kitchen, dining, and living areas were well-stocked, with every necessity provided, and plenty of books and games with children in mind. Would definitely stay again!!!

We originally found the backpackers a little hard to find as it was located inside Tatahi Lodge Beach Resort. After a quick Google search and reading the sign at the entrance of the property better we found where we were going. The sharehouse was nice and well equipped with information brochures and board games etc. The only thing I would say is the bathroom floor gets wet very easily - needs some bathmats or something. Very good location, very short walk to the beach, and at the bottom of the steep road/walk up to cathedral cove. Staff were friendly.
