Apartment 2 The Grove

I found it a spacious and very clean apartment with a well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable and it was very quiet at night so great for a good night’s sleep. The location is excellent- I walked into town each day as a loan female and felt safe with lots of people coming and going- it’s a 15 to 20 minute walk. It’s also close to the river which you can access through the little woods out the back gate or you can join the riverside path from the main road - it’s a really lovely walk. The property has plenty of off road, safe parking so great if you come by car. It was easy to access the apartment once I got there with a key code safe just near the door.

I noticed from other reviews that it can be a bit tricky to find the property so I really did my homework before arriving. But Google maps sometimes directed me to a street on the other side of Durham so watch out for that. This property is just off Gilesgate and is just down the road from St Giles Church so can use that to get you to within a few hundred metres of the property.

Location was perfect for us for our son’s Graduation and very easy to get Ubers cheaply and quickly from the main road.

Apartment is very dark - served us well as we were out a lot but would not have wanted to have spent time in it - decking area very slippery and needs cleaning - also brings dirt in. Hallway carpet would probably be better being taken up.

The upstairs neighbour was exceedingly noisy and on several occasions we were expecting them to arrive in our lounge through the ceiling Slightly dark due to situation on hillside

Very nice appartment, we would recommend and love to come back.

A second key would be nice. There was noise due to renovation work.
