Excellent standard of facilities and decor. This is the fourth time we’ve stayed at Bonny Colne on the Hill and look forward to returning again in the future. Frank is always welcoming and helpful.

Home from home

This was my second stay at Bonny Colne on the Hill, and it was just as wonderful as the first. It’s perfectly located close to my mum’s, which makes visiting so convenient, and the space itself is beautifully kept with fantastic facilities. It really feels like a home away from home.

Just be careful of the stone steps outside!

Very comfortable. Lovely, stylish interior - home from home (but tidier!) Well stocked kitchen. Warm with easy to change heating controls. Generous host.

Just need to be aware that there are 3 flights of quite steep stairs. The ones I really had to concentrate on were the ones outside leading to the front door. I am 64 and a little bit tottery though :)

It was okay as a base but not one for us to return to.

- Location was good if you needed to be central to the town centre - 2 minute walk. - There was a kitchen and dining table if needed, lounge, bathroom and bedroom & it was relatively roomy for a flat. - Good and quick response from flat owner. - Plenty of supermarkets within a 15 minute walk from flat.

- The bed was very uncomfortable and also felt like we were going to roll off each side, so had to sleep as close to the middle as possible. My partners legs were really aching after each nights sleep, but he didn't realise it was the bed until we got home & he slept in his own bed for the night, feeling totally fine the next morning. Though he was really uncomfortable each night & slept poorly. My legs also ached but not as bad as his. - Adding to the uncomfortableness we felt, there were also thickish cobwebs wrapped around the bed legs and underneath & there were duvets stuffed under the bed touching the slats, which didn't allow for a good night's sleep, particularly on the first night. I always check under the bed. Owner mostly sorted for us the next day, however, but it appears I got a spider bite on shoulder. There were some cobwebs in other areas of the flat too. - No blind up in the bathroom, so I felt really uneasy getting a shower when it was dark outside and light was on inside. The shower faced the window and even if patterned glass, from the outside, a naked person is obvious. - The alley to the cottage was dark at night & a phone light was needed to put the code in the gate. - The entrance to cottage was so narrow you couldn't actually swing a cat, though no fault of the owner. - We really missed an outside space, but again, no fault of the owners.

Great little flat for a few days away .

The flat is lovely with everything in it that you need . The bed is super comfy , the views from the bedroom and kitchen windows are beautiful ! It’s only a five minute walk to the main rd , where all the bars , cafes , shops and restaurants are . There’s also parking at the front of the property . The host is very friendly and approachable with messages etc . The kitchen has everything you’d need plus more , and the shower in the bathroom is powerfully enough for a good shower . I liked it so much I’ve booked again for next year !

The only thing I didn’t like , was the first lot of stone steps that lead up to the front door . They felt steep even though theres only about 6 steps , there is a hand rail to hold on to though . If you have mobility issues , you will struggle , especially after a wine or two 😂

Perfect spot for a holiday in Lancashire.

The property was close to the main street with plenty of shopping and takeaway options. The bus station is right there and provided easy access to some great attractions, such as Skipton.

Second stay here...

I can't put into words how much I adore this place! Yes, there are steps up to the front door, for which the hand rail is vital, and a flight of stairs up to the living area. However, once I'm inside, it is a beautiful apartment and the perfect bolt hole for a stay in Colne. We don't cook in the apartment, but the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could ever need. The sitting room is comfy and the TV provides entertainment for an evening in. Up another flight of stairs is the bedroom. Lots of storage to be had and the bed is soooo comfortable! The apartment is a short walk from the centre of town, so is ideally situated. This was our second stay here and we hope to be back for more!

A lovely apartment!

A lovely stylish spacious apartment right in the centre of Colne, but also quiet & residential. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. The bed very comfy. Bathroom a nice size & the shower was good. Yes there are quite steep stairs & outside steps , and if your not ok with this then dont book this apartment. We were fine with them!

We stayed in December so it was dark pretty much at 430pm. The outside light over the door and steps didnt work. Fortunatley we had a torch in the car that we could make use of as there is no on street lighting in the back lane either.

Hidden gem!

What can I say? We booked Bonny Colne after reading the reviews and even then it exceeded our expectations! Frank supplied comprehensive information about both the accommodation and local area.Upon arrival, we were able to check in independently. Walking into the apartment immediately felt like home from home. Inside, there is everything you could need, from a fully equipped kitchen to linen for the bedroom/bathroom. Bonny Colne is a proper hidden gem, close to the town centre, but tucked away in a quiet residential street. Parking was easy, in fact everything was just so easy...we've already booked to come back again!

The location is perfectly situated for walking down to the river and up to town. The road is mostly quiet.

The bathroom window had been screwed down, not fixed, so couldn't air the room. The mattress has become lumpy.

Bliss - homely touches and a homely feel x

I felt like I was at home. The apartment was easy to get into; Frank was so accommodating; the kitchen was so easy to cook in - there was nothing we couldn’t find. So lovely when there’s cloths and dishwasher tablets and everything you’d find in your own house. There’s personal touches and a lovely comfy, roomy bed - and the views from the back !!!! We loved it 😍

The location. The view from the bedroom and kitchen windows is fabulous. Flat was comfortable. It had everything you needed. We enjoyed our stay.

As other visitors had said, the stairs! The stairs at the entry are steep, as were the ones going up into the flat. Then the stairs going up to the bedroom. You need to be fit, not for anyone with mobility difficulties. I think the flat could be in need of some update in the decor, some areas looking a bit tired.

Nice apartment central to all the towns facilities.

Location was very good for shop and bus services. Flat was clean and very presentable. The host provided a lot of information as to the facilities in Colne which was useful for my short three day stay.

There were steep steps to the property door and then a stairway upto the apartment. As I live in a bungalow this was harder than I anticipated.

Beautifully cared for property that provided an excellent base whilst working away from home.

Excellent communication from Frank, the owner. Detailed info on locating the key etc meant no stress in this regard. Lots of useful local info re: eating out and other facilities. Very spacious - and very well cared for. Proved to be an excellent base for me whilst working away from home for 4 days.

The only point I would make, totally out of the owner's control, is that the steps into the building and the stairs as well are very steep - not a prob for me, but could be an issue for others.

An amazing stay, we hope to return again.

Amazing place! This is an exceptional place. It's packed with everything that you'd possibly need, from kitchen basics, shampoos/shower gels ... even the book case had a great range. We cannot fault anything. The parking is free (permit provided), it's very quiet yet only a short walk into town. The bed was very comfortable and the central heating kept the place very cosy.
