The apartment is located centrally within Valletta’s walled historic area. Masters Grand Palace’s southern part of the building is just cross the street and St John’s co-cathedral is just one block away. Any point within the city walls can be walked to within max 15 min, including bus station and ferry station just outside the walls. I used Regent Pharmacy on Google Maps which is very next door to the apartment. Two popular restaurants and a gelato place are other neighbors. An underground supermarket along with food court is in the very next block. Highly rated restaurants are all reachable within easy walking distance. The host provided very clear self check in instructions. A complementary bottle of water and a bottle of great tasting Spanish white wine welcomed us. Soundproofing was adequate. The bedroom had “blind doors” placed between the balcony and the room which helped keeping street noise to minimum. Noise could be heard in the living room though. Although there were “blind windows”, they did not close completely perhaps contributing to noise seeping through. I could smell restaurants cooking in the stairs outside the door but the smell did not penetrate inside the rooms. A full kitchen was in the living room with all desired facilities and utilities. Balcony was great to see the street activity from top and feel the vibrance of the old city.
Towels of four different sizes were provided: beach towel size, extra large, large and medium. They did not feel soft but hardened super dry. I would have preferred getting four extra large size towels instead for two of us for four nights. The hard bar soap was not of good quality and we did not use. We instead used the shampoo provided for body wash as well. Upon arrival I noticed a beeping sound from the smoke alarm and after informing the host I took out the battery to stop beeping. At checkout I ran into the cleaning lady who indicated that she had heard the beeping before my check in but did not inform the host. It appeared the host is managing the operation remotely most time. The host cannot act timely without getting notified by either guests or the cleaning crew.

From the outside the property is a typical historic Maltese building and inside it is a very well modernised apartment with all the amenities you need. The apartment is up a few flights of stone stairs without a lift so could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues, but fine for us fit 70 year olds!
The location is superb, in the middle of Valletta with all attractions, ferries, and buses within easy walking distance. An added bonus are the two traditional balconies from where you can see the action in the vibrant street below.

Location was good for main city, no access via car
Doonas provided were soiled advised owners on the very first day and unfortunately they said they would provide new ones after the following day and never heard back nor new doonas were provided. Room itself has lots of mosquitoes that come into it.
