Great location , lovely manager, comfy room.

Bathroom was very dusty and could do with a bin near kettle.

A little dated

Location was ideal for purpose of visit. Price was indicative of what we got however other guest houses in same area same price with better facilities. Welcome was good, owner was pleasant and parking at the rear very useful. The beds were comfortable and bedding was clean. Considering proximity to main road the noise was cancelled out by the double glazed windows which was good and a fan in the room was very welcome considering the heat waves weve been having. We were on the ground floor which meant we didnt have to navigate the steep stairs inside for the other rooms.

The accces is very ropey. Steps are uneven without a consistent hand rail and the plants are over grown making entry at night even more hazardous. There is a entrance to the rear where the parking is situated with level access but this is not available for guests meaning you have to walked around to the front and navigate the hazardous steps. Parking is for 4 vehicles however you need to be aware of blocking people in. Not a property that would suit anyone with any minor mobility issues. The shower unit itself was new and worked well but the mould around the unit was unpleasant definately the seals need strupping and replaceing as black with mould. The small bathroom had a maceration toilet with all the workings on display and not very clean at all and added to a sewagey odour! The room was mostly dust free however one lamp in the room had a thick layer of dust that dropped off when we touched the lamp, and the wardrobe clearly hadnt been moved in a while to clean behind. There was only 1 plug at bed side but this was behind one of the beds and not very accessible at all. Thank fully there was a extension lead to be able plug in to charge phones and plug in the hair dryer etc however a risk and not ideal. Tv was a throw back to the 80s. The tea and coffe supply in the room was questionable and the cups and glasses needed a clean before use. Milk was a large tub of powered milk which safe to say we didnt use as there was no way of telling how old it was. The complimentary toiletries were full size toiletries that had clearly had some communal use. No where to put things in the bathroom to store them near the sink such as toothbrush space. Externally the front door was not locked. There was a internal porch door full glass, the handle was broken with a simple yale access and no further security before our room door.
