Tantalus Villa

La villa est extraordinaire ! L'emplacement, la vue, les équipements, les hôtes qui sont très gentilles et à l'écoute..tout est magique ! Il y a beaucoup de place, à l'intérieur, à l'extérieure, dans le jardin...Les photos sur le site ne lui rends pas tout à fait justice ! La très grande plage devant la maison est presque privé. Très peu de monde passe sur la plage. Par rapport à d'autres endroits sur ile, cette plage est la meilleure par la grandeur, le calme et la vue sur le port et sur les magnifiques bateaux de croisières. Nous avons été très bien accueilli et traité par JP et sa femme, des hôtes formidables. En ayant trois gamins avec nous, ils ont menés la vie dure à JP le soir, qui a su tempérer les choses avec beaucoup de tact ! Nous n'avons pas pu avoir le chef promis pour nous cuisiner mais, JP a fait les courses pour nous et nous a préparer lui même le dines le soir d'arriver ! Un diner délicieux et copieux ! Nous avons demandé aussi de nous préparer le petit déj, qui a été aussi excellent ! La maison est immense avec beaucoup d'espace de rangement.

The facilities are fabulous - spacious covered outside comfy seating area, great kitchen with 2 fridges, 6 large bedrooms, large pool and jacuzzi and right on the beach!

Being on a bus route would avoid getting taxis to and from venues, but not that much of an issue

The photos of this property just do not do it justice. I've always been a little apprehensive when booking a private property in comparison to a hotel, but booking Tantalus was hands down the best decision we made. From start to finish it was just magical and the little touches that were left for us made it even more special. In a strange year when Covid has taken away so much from people, we felt safe here with all the special new procedures followed. The rooms, the outdoor balconies and space, the jacuzzi, the pool and the stunning views are better than at hotels I have stayed at. Relaxation is what we needed and Tantalus is situated in a quiet residential area on a beautiful stretch of Brighton Beach. There are some places within walking distance to check out, and on other occasions we ventured further out we were able to arrange taxis and explore this beautiful Island. The property does have a surreal ambience and at times feels like you could be in a nature reserve. The owners 2 adorable dogs made us feel very welcome, not to mention the 3 tortoises we spotted roaming the grounds and the monkey and baby who sometimes popped up. We would definitely stay here again and could not recommend booking Tantalus more.

Leaving as 10 nights was not enough.

Really friendly and helpful hosts. Stunning location a few steps from the beach. Swimming in the sea was lovely. There’s a lovely pool too but why swim there when the real thing is just there! Eating on the verandah in the evenings was brilliant, watching the sun go down. The whole place is very well equipped with everything you could wish for. Supermarket is 15 minutes walk. We cooked our own meals throughout in the spacious kitchen. Cleaning lady came daily. We were a group of 5 oceanographers working at the Coastguard Station so had a great 15 minute walk along the beach to work each day! 5 well appointed spacious bedrooms and space for more people if we had shared.

It was great, nothing we didn’t like!
