Total scam - not an official agent

This is not an actual agent for the property, they are a sort of pound-shop rental agency for some owners with scummy flats. When you get to reception (which is where Booking.com say you pick up the keys, see previous reviews), they tell you it is nothing to do with them and send you to a launderette on the other side of town. We were then put in a completely different accommodation (L’Ours Blanc) which we have stayed in before and hated. To be clear, we’ve stayed in P&V Bergers many times before and we like it, so this isn’t a complaint about the property, it’s a complaint about these scammers who put us somewhere else and have completely ignored all communication since. We stayed a couple of days (of a planned 10 day stay) and left and booked somewhere else. Reception at Bergers said Maeva is a completely different company (which is a lie, it’s still part of the P&V group), it’s a mess. Booking.com customer service have also been useless and I am sending a letter before action tomorrow citing their breach of The Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU (CRD) and the EU Directive 2005/29/EC by providing services with defects. If I don’t hear anything I’ll be launching court proceedings in the relevant jurisdictions, we really can’t let fraudsters get away with this stuff.

Very poor

Staff at the property directed me to another address, some distance away, to collect the keys. There was no one at the key collection address and no phone number to call. Had to wait over an hour (despite arriving when requested by the property owner). Rubbish. There was a foul smell in the corridor outside our property which seeped into our hallway. Most unpleasant.

Disappointing

Upon arrival, I had to walk across the town to find a laundrette to get the keys, but the keys weren’t there. I had to wait ages, after travelling all day, to get into the start that. Awful service.

Only book with Mauve if you are stuck

- booked and 4 person and a 4-6 person room. We were a group of 8 and booked the 4-6 person room so we would have a bit more space. We were given two four person rooms despite our reservation. This was an absolute disgrace. - we had to walk 15 minutes to collect the keys for our rooms upon arrival. - one bedroom had no pillows so we had to use our clothes as pillows - the elevators are really really slow - they gave us two keys for each room. For one room, only one of the keys worked. Basically don't stay with Mauve home. Book anywhere else. They are no help.

Alpe D’Huez is an amazing location - this Hotel is OK but I would not stay again.

Location of the room and hotel was excellent in the Bergers area, the hotel has good solid facilities and parking is free. The service at the reception and restaurant were excellent.

The room is very old and worn. Things like mattresses were dirty, floor not clean, shower not working correctly, having to pay big money for WIFI for the few days and having problems with the door locking system - these just should not happen in hotel that advertises itself as such. Communications initially online with Maeava were complicated and there was some confusion about a bond payment, This could all be simplified and upgraded.
