The location was great, very close to the cologne cathedral.The room was clean and spacious.

I would have liked to check in early because I came in at 14.40 and had to wait 20 minutes just walking around to pass the time.

I booked the room and I suppose that there's an AC (based on the description available on booking.com). But when I arrived to the hotel the receptionist told me that AC is just for double rooms and I'm having only a single room. I tried to ask for an upgrade and will pay for it but there was no place. So it was really disappointing, +1K EUR for 3 nights in a 2x3 meters room and without an AC is too expensive, and this is Köln not Paris or Interlaken. Not worth it.

Good location and confortable

The location was really good (10 minutes walking from the cathedral). It was close to a street full of shops and restaurants. We had two different bedrooms, they were in different buildings. One of the buildings was new and it had tv with internet, air conditioned. The other building is older and the room is less equipped but it was also good. Everything was clean and the personnel were nice. It has de possibility of leaving the luggage in a luggage room if you arrive before the check-in time. The bathroom was quite big and it had hair dryer.

Brilliant and recommended 100% I loved it

The rooms are big enough and everyone loved it. the location is perfect just behind the shopping mall; close to all the restaurants and just a few minutes walk to the cathedral. I really love the hotel. It’s clean. It’s beautiful. I will definitely stay here again. I totally recommend it

Convenient central location and the room was clean and spacious. Stuff was helpful and friendly.

There is no air conditioning in the old building where we stayed and the windows open only slightly, so it was very very hot in the room and difficult to sleep even when it cooled down and nice outside.

Unworthy of being called a hotel

The entire building is not a hotel. There's nothing wrong with being old, as long as it remains as cosy, hygienic, and comfortable as a hotel. Power sockets hanging out of the wall in the room are simply dangerous! Damaged, torn floor lamps don’t create a homely atmosphere – they just look like old junk. Burn marks and fire damage on the ceiling, walls, and floor in the hallway near the lift are a very bad sign. The shower doesn’t have enough pressure or hot water to properly wash your hair.

The overall impression is more positive than negative, but a little overpriced for what it offers

The top location in the walking distance from the main attractions, shops and restaurants. All you need is within 5-20 minutes walking. The personnel is very friendly. The room cleaning quality is good. Very quiet, no street noise reaches the room.

Insufficient soundproofing of the walls, one can easily hear voices from the adjacent rooms and the corridor. Safe is old-fashioned, and there is no key to it provided, so we could not use it. There is no kettle in the room, and we had to bring one with us.

Must stay at hotel for location alone!

Location, location, location!!! Incredible to be able to easily get to all the Christmas markets, central shopping, The Dom and Harbour. Close to some lovely restaurants / coffee shops too.

The heating broke in our room so it was a little chilly but soon fixed by the hotel staff.

close to shops, buses, trams, and trains, the room was larger than i thought it would be, bathroom on the small size but all very clean,and cleaned every day, the staff were all friendly and helpful Enjoyed staying here

Its location is very central.

-Stains on many things -After a night of an uncomfortable mattress i got back spasms (first time in my life) -breakfast definitely NOT worth it -room stuck to a wall view We used to go there pre-covid, very disappointed in their service.

Opera Hotel cologne stay

The location was excellent, next street over from main shopping street. Very clean rooms, had family room that had two single beds in one room and two single beds pushed together in other room. Small fridge and safe in room. Very near to cologne cathedral, 5 minute walk. Close to train station, 10 to 15 minutes walk away. Good selection at breakfast, sausages, scrambled eggs, yoyurt, fruit, breads, toast. About 15 minute walk to the river edge, which have great lot of restaurants along it, with outdoor dinning.

Rooms very hot, stayed there at end of June, they provided three fans but they only pushed the hot air around. Building works outside hotel was very loud and they started at 6.30 in the morning. Staff not customer friendly but was very efficient. Breakfast room was very small, so you would have to go to breakfast early to get seats. No kettle in rooms.
