A nice chilled out place, good value, good location, friendly helpful staff (once you have a bed or room). I like the privacy blinds on the dorm beds.
They really need to improve their reservations system. It's all done manually on a physical board through different people which frequently leads to overbooking and stress for potential guests. I had to wait over an hour while they 'solved not having a bed for me' despite me actually having online conversations with someone about my reservation a few hours before arriving. Very stressful. I saw others with reservations being turned away. Not good at anytime, let alone peak Feria time. Once you get a bed / room it's geat. Also they could do with a couple more bathrooms.

Great value for price, central location convenient for walking San Antonio and reaching public transport, nice rooftop, fun art and painting, great efforts to keep common spaces and bathrooms clean, helpful staff
Noisy as rooms are connected with opening high on the wall, no surfaces to put anything down in the room or bathroom

Having a private room after a week in a shared dorm was fabulous and the cost of a private here is the same as sharing a dorm in other hostels. The bed was super-comfy, I had tons of space and surprisingly the bed linens and towels were changed and the room cleaned after I'd only been there a few days. I enjoyed using the rooftop terrace in the morning for coffee and meditation and to journal. Lovely views of the hills and sky. Great location for everything - the dancing venues, the dance schools, cafes and restaurants. San Antonio is my fave area and this hostel is perfectly located. It's on a small one-way street so it's quieter than some of the surrounding streets. There's a gentleman on security every single night so it felt very safe returning home from a dance venue with him at the door. The water feature is lovely inside the door and the staff were always helpful with regard to my leaving my key in reception instead of bringing it with me at night.
The hostel really didn't match up with the photos in real life. It's become quite shabby (I heard later that it was THE hostel to stay in in the past but since Adry's son emigrated, that it's not been the same). The staff are lovely but if you don't speak some Spanish, you're a bit stuck. I'd been in two other hostels so had become accustomed to a whatsapp group which kept you updated of activities daily. Information like that was scant at this hostel (just a board on the wall which wasn't pointed out to me) so if this is your first location in Cali, you might miss out on a lot of things going on. I already had made friends in the previous two weeks so I was totally fine but I don't think it would be easy to meet people in this hostel. There isn't a dedicated space for the free salsa lessons and I felt like I was constantly interrupting the free and paid classes as they took place outside my room. There's only ONE hot shower in the entire place so I often needed to wait to shower. The kitchen is very small and it's a challenge to cook there. If you want to buy breakfast, you have to order it the night before which isn't always practical (tons of cafes around though for breakfast). To sum up, it doesn't feel like a hostel or give you the benefits of a hostel. It's like a guesthouse really.
