Auchgoyle Bay Cottage is the perfect base to explore Argyll – the Coast of the Gaels. The cottage is in the small village of Minard, just south of Inveraray and has direct views across the ever-changing panorama of Loch Fyne. There are walks to suit all abilities from the cottage, along the shore, round the village and up into the hills to the deserted Feorlin village or a short walk away at the National Trust gardens at Crarae. The loch shore is 100 metres away, where you can launch small boats and kayaks. Inveraray and Lochgilphead offer a range of facilities including restaurants, shops and other tourist attractions. Both are a short drive away. You can explore further afield if you wish with Oban and Kintyre within easy reach, but just as easily spend a week within a few miles of the cottage and do something different every day.

The cottage was equiped with everything we needed. We did find the stairs very steep and narrow. It was great to be able to cook a meal and get up to date with washing and drying. Becs was helpful when we arrived and Brian.communicated well beforehand. We appreciated the dairy free milk and delicious GF biscuits

The cottage is lovely. Just perfect to wind down and relax. We were in the area for a family wedding & were only there for the weekend but it was lovely to sit in the sun room for beakfast and just chill. I would love to go back for a longer stay.

A great holiday cottage in a beutiful location. You will likely want to have a car but there are bus services to the village. There are pretty port towns along the loch at Inverary, Lochgilphead and Tarbert. Ferries to Islay and Jura run from the port at Kennacraig.

We really did enjoy our stay in this lovely cottage.
The view over Loch Fyne is spectacular and even a rainy day is no problem at all.

Such an amazing view to wake up too. The property is just stunning. Such a cute little place to stay. The host are amazing too. They went above and beyond what we expected. The weekend away was just one of the best weekends we have had. Worth a stay! X

Hosts have done an outstanding job providing every comfort. Loch views and access directly across street with access to numerous hiking trails. Highly recommend and one of the best self catering rentals I’ve experienced.

The cottage has everything you need and a full folder provided with things to do in the area. Very comfortable. The highlights were the boat trip from Crinan and the distillery tour at Springbank. Beautiful area and not so many tourists.

Argyle coast escape
Our family of 4 loved every minute at Brian and Bec’s cozy and homey little cottage. It’s perfectly located to explore and they’ve thought of everything you could ever need to be comfortable. The linens are lovely, the sun porch was heavenly, and the space was perfectly organized with Bosch appliances and comfy beds. The cottage is small but still perfect for a family of four. We loved exploring Kilmartin, Dunadd, Invarary, and loch Fyne. Brian had great advice for exploring and the cottage made for a quiet rest bit after our day of travel.

Apartment on the Loch
Pleasant apartment with window views of Loch Fyne. Very comfortable 2 bedrooms upstairs. 15 minutes from Inveraray with nice shops, activities and some good restaurants. Easy access to the rest of the peninsula. Hosts made it very easy. Even though they were out of town we were able to get in and out without difficulty. Would definitely recommend this spot.

Relaxing break
A warm welcome awaited us at Auchgoyle cottage, with a little note and welcome pack and fresh milk in the fridge.
The cottage is a cosy little home from home with everything we could need for our stay and has stunning views across the loch. Brian and Becs are on hand next door if there are any issues, but we didn’t have any. The cottage is perfectly placed to explore the surrounding area.
We’d love to return!

Fantastic 5 star
What a fantastic find! The most perfectly catered for holiday home. Everything has been thought about so carefully down to an emergency sewing kit!
Brian and Becs were such friendly, helpful and informative hosts. We were greeted by a very welcoming tray of goodies and milk already in the fridge. Bravo to both of you!

Wonderful loch views, comfy cottage
Very comfortable cottage, great help from the owners who live next door, lots of treats provided. Amazing to see the constant change of light and shadow over the loch on the doorstep, and the wider views to the Arrochar Alps. Lovely little village, very handy for Inverarary, Kilmartin Glen, Crinan Canal and other attractions of Argyll. Definitely to be recommended.

We had booked this for a 5 night stay for 2 of us for a special birthday and following the 5* reviews we thought it would be a lovely place to stay. We pulled up in our car, the views are amazing so we were looking forward to going into the house. As soon as we opened the door, there was a fusty smell, my partner immediately noticed the dial on the electric heater was hanging off and the dead beetle in the shower tray which is to the right of the front door. We started to unpack, having visited the local food shop to stock up for the days we were going to be there. The kitchen is very small but nicely fitted with what looked like new units. After checking the cupboards to store the food, we came to realise there wasn’t any room, so I opened the large cupboard that was built into the wall thinking that might be the pantry, the walls were black and the pots and pans were hanging in there which is what we would need to use, needless to say that we didn’t unpack the shopping and left the food in the bags. We went into the conservatory which was nice, however the outlook was onto a communal garden that was very overgrown and multiple wheelie bins, some of them full.Obviously we were really disappointed and pretty deflated at this stage but went upstairs to see what it was like. There was a spider hanging from the ceiling, mould around the windows of both bedrooms and the fusty smell continued. We became nervous about having to sleep in the bed.We decided to load the car and go home, knowing we were risking loosing all the money we had paid and we had a long drive home but really didn’t want to stay there for one night, let alone 5. Considering we are in the middle of a global pandemic and the Covid situation in the UK is increasing, we decided it’s not worth the risk.I notified the owner when I got home to advise him and requested out of courtesy a partial refund due to the above, knowing that he didn’t have to do this but I genuinely didn’t want to put a bad review on his property as the end of the day it’s a business he is running, however he has responded very defensively, dismissing everything we said, saying that I was threatening him with a bad review so I’m not getting my money back. That’s fine, I’m happy to walk away without the money but I do question the validity of the previous reviews. Everything I have said above is totally true, and very disappointing. This isn’t 5*.

So nette Vermieter trifft man selten.
