i understand that when 5 twenty-somethings without a booking.com rating rent an apartment, it is prudent to collect a deposit for potential damages. however, when a 58 year old father with 2 children show up with a booking.com rating of over 100 bookings and genius level that a deposit is insulting. it colors the whole stay.
